Hi Ladies
Follow the post daily but do not post often but I have a couple of questions that I need help with please. I have nearly finished this
http://www.past-impressions.co.uk/acatalog/jolly_nation_cross_stitch_kits.html which seems to have taken forever, it could do with a was and iron before framing would you recommend washing it as I am worried that the black will run also is there a special way to iron it?
I would love some advise also as a friend of mine is leaving work to go to college to do art I would like to give her something to keep so thought of doing something in cross stitch. She is 21 and very girly likes butterflies pinks purples etc any ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks everyone:beer:0 -
Hello folks, just catching up Bubbles dont let these nasties win - why do people have to be so horrible??? I only really venture on the card making and now lurk on here (the nice forums!!) - I have read some other forums and some are really horrible - and it puts me off posting anything - even if it would be good for some people 'cos you could just get shot down in flames - anyway.... got my replacement kit from Cross Stitcher today - really pleased it came so quick - have popped a pic on my blog (linkie under name) of what I have done so far. Although realised I am a square out inbetween his feet - aargh - I think will still crack on though rather than start afresh. All wip's are looking great - was tempted to look for a big kit the other day - but then lost my nerve - because deep down I know I wont finish it - so just going to stick to little kits xx0

Anhor and DMC threads will definitely not run. I have been using DMC for 15 years and have never had a problem. They are both quality makes
For ironing, do it on the reverse and on a soft towel as a base. I sometimes give the front a quick press as well but be careful that your iron doesnt have any marks on the plate, if it does then a tea towel to cover the fabric will protect it.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Am now sitting here in tears and cant stop crying. Does it really matter so much that I got the words mixed up, either way the dog is still dead which made me feel bad enough and now I feel terrible for posting to stop it happening to anyone else. Just days ago my mum showed me a article about people feeling like they were picked on on forums and I said never on MSE. I was wrong. Again apparently... Going to sit in a corner and cry now.MRSMCAWBER wrote: »and the point behind following bubbles to a completely different thread is what exactly? And with that in mind, and trying to be nice: Please leave her alone on a thread where she can feel relaxed knowing no one will have a dig. We don't have arguments or nastiness here and we certainly don't want them dragged over from other threads.
Hello everyone, i have to say i'm so disheartened by this.:( I often get words muddled and my spelling is bad, hence all my edits! I can't understand why someone would be nasty about it! Poor Bubbles, please try to ignore it and stay here and have some tea and cake with people who care and want to try to help with peoples problems and bad days. :coffee:
i'm actually quite disturbed that one of them followed Bubbles here - thats really not good. ok, maybe they've lurked here for ages but it does look a little susupicious.
after being 'shouted' at for seeking compensation when i was merely asking what to do after a delayed flight i've been very careful what i say and where on these forums :lipsrseal.
my other MSE 'home' is Old Style and down there we like to think its nice and friendly and supportive. But there must be something in the water today - an Old School stalwart BoardGuide, Peneolope Penguine (sorry i cant spell) has quit the board indefinately after being abused and trolled and had nasty threads started about her elsewhere, just for doing her job of monitoring the posts
i feel so sorry for her and also for you Bubbles. It just ain't right. You are so kind and thoughtful towards others, you deserve praise not picking on :smileyhea I really do hope this ends here for you Bubbles, and if it doesnt, let us know and we'll all help end any future bullying. :grouphug: (i really wish there was a less dodgy looking 'hug' smilie!)Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Just realised I thanked a post without properly reading it - I like the new remove your thanks option!! Just wondering if anyone in the NE has been to the stitching/knitting exhibition that is on in November at the Arena in Newcastle and if it is worth a visit. I have been to the papercrafts exhibition at Harrogate, and just noticed the stitching one after a couple of comments on here and wondered if it was worth a visit for someone who just does a little bit of xs or is it more suited to advanced stitchers - any advice would be great - thanks xx0

I haven't used Anchor but I do agree that DMC definitely do not run - have used for over 20 years and never a problem, even with red, black, blues etc. I usually iron whilst it's still a bit damp and then leave it to "air" until completely dry.
(And then.......I put it into a drawer for 8 years until I can be bothered to frame it !!!:rotfl:)

LOL, I am guilty of that as well
A few months ago I Counted 72 pieces of finished work, all ironed and lying flat in a big box in my cupboard, earliest dated back to 2001
You can only frame and gift so many pieces lolCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219.
