Hey everyone sorry I've not been on my OH has been hogging all our computers....shouldn't complain though it's work :)

thank you for the number Bubbles I'll update my signature soon.

After my disaster of an April challenge I have decided on my May challenge which I WILL stick too, it's someones 70th birthday so I'm going to have a go at one of those 3D keepsake cross stitch cards (has anyone done one before?) and I bought a double kit with a hedghog and a mouse (country companions) I've started the hedgehog one so I want to finish both of those too

so my may challenge is to do both the country companions kits and to do the 3D card I'll post pics of them in a bit

louise that was very nice of your hubby.... It sounds like we're all very lucky with our partners :)

and here are more pom pins for NMM :j :j :j

Afternoon all and big congratulations to harley and ginny on the new arrivals!

Big congrats to those who have finished/made big progress on their projects too.
There is a definite sense of urgency in the thread now, I can imagine you all stitching away franctically to get everything done in time!

I have had a great weekend stitching after finishing my mum's birthday pressie on Friday. It's been so nice to to come in and not have a project to work on that I have to get finished. :rotfl:

The great news is I've finished all the back stich in the top half of santa :j So I can finally make a start on his bottom half :)

Although I've still got other sewing UFOs to finish by the end of May, I'd like to join the May challenge please!
I'm going to do that wedding sampler for my friends wedding in June and if I join the challenge it won't be a mad panic to get it done. (I hope! :D)

    Big hugs to all!

Is going to be a very busy week - have got mega loads to do at/for work and got to get these fairies as well.

Plan is to stay up stupid late to get everything done and then collapse over the long weekend lol! Dh is away all bank holiday weekend so need to chill with the kids while he is away anyway so will be taking it easy while I'm on my own with them.

May target is to get fairies framed and up on dd's wall, then to finish flower vase for m-i-l's birthday and get it framed. Then to get Fillmore done for ds.

Dorastar just realised I think I forgot to mention the show on saturday. Im glad you had a good time. I go to a huge one in Harrogate most octobers and its the same there - despite it being a knitting and stitching show its mainly card crafts. Last time we learned how to make knitted necklaces, I bought a gorgeous one ready made, I will have to take a picture sometime as its stunning. Someone actually offered to buy t for £100 but I love it too much.

I cleaned my floral alphabet by cleaning it with soap powder (bio) and soaking it in a bath for a while - then thoughrly rinising it. Use warm water. Found washing it in bath then rinising it with shower worked well.

Check the threads are colorfast first tho.

Rust marks didn't come out. I hope to hide them in the mount when I can afford to frame it.

Glad you decide to do it - as I said I did my floral alphabet in memory of my late husband. Started it when he was alive (he suppplied the materials) finished a few years after he died and it had been abandoned in shed.

23rd spiral it just looked wrong you being 21, at least now we will all know off the top of our heads what your number is!
    Kind wishes

    sweetcarer ;)

PS Been thinking alot about the big quilt - even doddled a diagram for a layout if we use the alphabet - like the Margaret Sherry one in Cross Stitcher mags website. Will try to upload it later.

I had a nose bleed last night, luckily avoided getting it all over but there is a couple of drops, they arent too obvious luckily but have spent most of the day trying to get it out!

Your organised doing doodles for the quilt, I cant wait until it is all finished and we can see what we have accomplished.

Oh and you now have the honour of being number 25.

Nmm the challenge came from something you initially came up with so it was only right you were number 1. Or another way you could look at it is I have daily probles with IBS and number 2's for me arent particularly easy, just like the challenge!!!

Lelc your new kit is lovely so we wont hold starting it early against you.

Mountain ash I'm glad you have decided to complete the zebras. Even if it takes you years of picking it up and leaving it again I think when it is eventually finished you will feel proud of yourself and I'm pretty sure someone looking down on you will get a big kick out of it too.

Sorry if I have missed anyone in this post. My memory is crap and they have changed my drugs so feel constantly sick with them.

Here is my update on the angel

    Last Sunday

That sounds interessting, I'd love to see it.

I'm not a knitter myself, but my mum might like to have a go at something like that. :)

Kezybabybabe - good luck with your new challenge!! oh, i've a bit of a favour to ask you on behalf of a friend who sometimes lurks here but never posts (tut tut you-know-who!)... she was totally inspired by your 'angelic' bangonthedoor and has since looked all over the internet for the chart but can't find that one anywhere. would you be able to point us in the right direction or even perhaps *nudge?? It looks just like her niece and would make such a nice present!
Well I was planning on finishing that one first, so I could post the chart, I've used pencil to complete the squares, so if your friend doesn't mind that you're welcome to it.

I did find the kit here for £7.99: http://www.angelstitches.com/cross-stitch/bangonthedoor2.php/kits/9008
Also found it on eBay for starting price of £3.99:

Let me know by pm if you want the chart. :-)

Yay Bubbles - we normally go to Harrogate as well in November, am already saving up for it!

The patchwork is english paper piece style (if that's the right term for it) did have a go at somewhen I was a teenager but messed it up cos I took all the paper out way too soon and it went rubbish (technical term there) Then am going to put it onto a cushion cover I have yet to make! Would love to make my kids patchwork throws for when they leave home, they are only 8 and 3 at the moment so I have a few years yet and want to try different methods till I find one I like

Well ladies, I've completed half my challenge... I finished the last of the back stitch on the first vest before work this morning. I just need to go into town tomorrow morning to see if I can get some iron-on interfacing type stuff as I'm concerned it might be a little rough on babies skins. I'll post a pic as soon as I take one, in the mean time I'm going to check to see if I have all the threads for the monkey in case I need to get any tomorrow whilst I'm out.

Thanks for my number too, I'll sort out my signature when I get a minute. (don't let me forget).
