Got quite a bit of the back-stitching done, Though there's still quite a bit to do. Not sure how much I will get done today, as OH is here today and our van needs a bit of TLC for a project that he's doing for us.0

Shelly - Sorry to hear about the booboo, I done something similar the other weeek myself where I had miscounted my marker. I was a little luckier in that it was salvagable after a heap of 'reverse stitching'
How muh had you actually got done? Is it worth unpicking or would you be best starting again?
To be honest I think I have done too much to unpick and start again. The thread quality isn't great (it's not a brand I recognise) and I think having stitched with it once, unpicking and restitching will just make it worse. Also there have been lots of three quarter stitches so the fabric won't look great if I have to move things around.
I'll carry on with it sometime because it will fit the fabric but near the end I'll have to hold by hand because it's going to be so tight I won't have even enough fabric to attach it to my frame.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I have just finished a small carousel cross stitch for my brand spanking new grandson Micheal who arrived on friday. It was a chart from an old x stitch mag that i kept and just changed the colours a bit, will post a pic if I get chance. Am busy knitting him a Peter rabbit now so am off stitching for a few days. Anyway baby is due home anytime now so must go and tidy up - Dd and baby are staying here as her partner is in the army and they arent settled anywhere yet, so I am making the most of having them around for now.:jClearing the junk to travel light

Congrats Ginny on the new arrival. My nephew arrived Friday too so it must have been a good day for it.
Lucky Micheal to have such lovely gifts waiting for him. Love to see pics if you can, even peter rabbit (know he's not stitched but still like to see him. And maybe even Micheal if you like.

LOL I like how you have your prorities...good lighting comes before a cuppa and a biccy :rotfl::rotfl:
I don't know of any arty/craft type groups in my area. Tbh I don't even have any pics of my work on fb or anything cos the people I work with (mainly blokes) would seriously take the mick out of meThat's why I keep it all on my blog lol.
I'd love to find a group. Maybe I should start my own :rotfl::rotfl:
There is a local stitch club here my mum is always at me to go to, we both used to go when I was like 6 but they were all in their 50s and extremely !!!!!y. We left when my mum overheard two of them saying I was an ugly child so I have no desire to go back, even if I could face leaving the house I wouldnt wanna go there even though chances are it wouldnt be the same people. Last time I saw my CPN there was a leaflet promoting an arts and crafts group for people with mental health problems and although I know it would probably do me good the idea of going there alone makes me want to vomit. Is truly fab lighting - can tell the differences between shades of off-white under it!
Is a church art fellowship and I am about 30 years younger than most of the people there - is kind of nice cos they all look after me and ask questions to show they're interested in me being there. And they do make me cuppas and bring me biccies too (without me having to nag them - like at home) while I just sit and stitch. What a sad way for a yong whippersnapper like myself to spend a Friday night:rotfl:
Sounded like heaven sitting there in good light while people bring you tea and biscuits until you said it was a friday. I couldnt possibly miss lost! I mean they are going to get off the island soon and everything!Hi ladies.
Witchwoo and bubbles I too am a big HP fan! I love the films but I loved the books more. I have read them all a couple of times and am thinking about a 3rd time when I have finished the book I am currently reading. I bought a 'Winky the house elf' toy from amazon awhile back because he looked ok on the site but I was disappointed when he arrived, he's quite ugly!
Bubbles your finished Angel is gorgeous, I love the colours.
Personally if I see a kit that I just have to have I will research prices online (incuding ebay) and buy from the cheapest!
I have a few 'trusted' sites we have all used and recommend to each other saved in my favourites and will usually end up buying from one of those.
For fabric I have recently been buying 99p shop kits because it's ok quality and a nice size for the size of projects I do.
For threads I think we all tend to use across town stitching. They are cheap and have excellent customer service.
Now I have a to admit to a BIG booboo on my part
Yesterday I needed to move to another section of fabric on my frame and as I unwound the rolled fabric I realised it looked like I wouldn't have enough at one end to finish the design.
I took it off the frame, re-folded to find the middle and for some reason I have marked the fabric twice, once in the right place and once in totally the wrong place. Working it out I have counted and started stitching from the wrong mark.
I counted out the amount of stitches still to go and it's going to be very tight at one end, there won't be much fabric left!
I was so cross at my mistake I whipped it off the frame and put it all away
So I got out the kitchen shelf kit, done the photocopying and looked at it for an hour because I was too scared to start incase I made the same mistake again.
I did eventually get started though and have checked about 1000 times I have started in the right place :rotfl:
The no place like home kit will get done eventually (it's already bugging me that I gave up so quickly on it) because I have been wanting to stitch it for ages and I really like it. I was just so cross yesterday I had to get it out of my sight.
I always read the HP books too, me and my niece always go to see the films together and I always embarass her by crying! When Dobbie gets kicked down the stairs I actually shouted awww!! And when Cedric died I was in a right state, couldnt stop crying when his dad cried son and she called me more embarassing than when her dad wore a dress!!!
I understand how frustrating when you are going to run out of space, my angel only has about 2 inches at the top and bottom left over when the border is done as I misestimated.
I am happy cos I have just bought this to do for my dads birthday next may. Got it for £3 on ebay!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member No 2 :j
