Hi everyone not much progress on the lavender fairy I'm afraid so don't think it will be finished by next Friday.I've just finished two small items (5" x 7") that I started a couple of months ago.
They are really lovely Erics' mum, but i wouldn't say they are that small!
OOh, i visited a lovely oldie worldie craft shop today (working in a different place to normal), and the lady was selling off her stash of craft mags and books. i had to resist the books (library resoloution) but couldnt resist 3 of the Xstitch mags: a '94 Needlecraft (cute xstitch sampler & piece on charm quilts), a 94 Crosstitcher (camel & birds), and a '92 Crossstitcher (1934 ducks reproduction). Anyway i was quite surprised to see the '92 Crossstitcher is Number 1!! I checked on ebay and they've gone for 1.00 in the past, and one is on for 3.99, so i'm in profit if i sold it! woop! :TRelax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. I was thinking of using one to frame up the Floral Alphabet and buy a made to measure mount from the frame shop that some have mentioned in here - I costed it out and it is too much I feel for both frame and mount from there, though it is probably worth it after all the effort I put into it.

Gosh I have went on a bit - sorry for that. Its just in here I have found a kinship that I have not had for a long time. I don't have many friends close by. One stopped talking to me after I remarried - only the occassional round robin email and messages of FB. Sad as we would of been friends 21 years this year - met a Girl Guide camp years ago and became penpals then friends.
I found framing it really tricky. I think the frame was called RIBBA, and although it looks great now, I don't think I'll buy that frame again. I've got some other IKEA frames that are fine, so it might just be the way this one was made.
Don't worry about letting it all out on here. Goodness knows I have!I think we've got a wonderful supportive group of friends here, so feel free to let loose if you need to.
Ha ha you could place them all over each other so each one covers the unfinished bit and you can have a wall full of patchwork Cross stitch lol :rotfl::p
That would be interesting! :rotfl:
Ooo talking about hedgehogs we took a rescue one in a juvenile one that was too small to be allowed to hibernate, so had to be kept at room temp. We got him off the rescue centre in November and have had him in a big plastic tub (with holes drilled in) in our office/spare bedroom with us. But we've got to release him in the next couple of weeks.... sounds silly but im going to miss him, its nice sat here on the nights and have him come out and say hello and start ripping his newspaper bed apart lol. Although im not sure ill miss cleaning him out every morning, honestly i never knew they were such messy animals!
Awww...love hedgehogs, and well done for looking after him. That's a lovely thing to do. We saw a hedgehog for the first time in ages a few weeks ago. Took a different route home from the tube station & he was on someone's doorstep-then saw us and ran...(they can really shift, can't they???)New baby is due in 2 days so really must get a wriggle on!!!
Good luck with the birth. Hope all goes to plan & make sure you come back here as soon as you can and show off some pics of him/her!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Maybe the men are feeling neglected??? I see no sign of chocs or flowers here, but I have been made a cuppa & he cooked tea.Although he's been cooking tea all week as I'm so knackered from getting up early for jury duty, then sitting around all day. It's soooo tiring doing nothing. Well, that's not quite the truth. I stitched for a bit this morning, then shortly before lunch, I got a case! :j Expected to last a couple of days, so at least I'm doing something all day tomorrow. It's quite interesting watching the lawyers argue their case. Like being on Law & Order-although not as slick!

Ah, thanks Ruth, but it's not my baby - it'll be my nephew:T. My baby is coming up to 7 months old:o (where did that time go???). It is her that I am doing the practice vest for before I do the real thing as a gift.
Though I will take you up on the kind offer of posting pics when it is finished. Any excuse to pop her photo on hereCross Stitch Challenge member 11 - May challenge well under way
