It's been converted to E168 now, drop me a pm if you still need it and I'll pop a length in the post for you x

Excellent, thanks Louise, I'll PM you my address. The kit was giving to me by my 11 year old cousin a little while ago and I always planned to finish it to give it back to her. :o

Kez you have some lovely kits there :) think you should start with the bookmark (which i love where did you get it?) as that only has a bit left to do on it. the tatty teddy one looks lovely but i have heard the back stitching on those is a pig to do lol so good luck, oh and no i don't have that thread sorry, only have a pearly metallic one
Again this was another one given to me by my cousin. The backstitching is also very similar on this on to the tatty teddy one, so gave up for the time being. I'm still working on my bigger piece, so I might go back and finish these off after that. The Best Friends one I've had since I was in my teens  so who knows when it'll get done... It's probably easier for me to do now, as I'm more experienced with stitching and this one has small bits here and there.

I have the Tigger on waste canvas kit too. Do I take it that if I'm getting rid of any WTP kits, you'll be first in the queue?
Wish I could help with the threads. I know the Bang on the Door 'Hitched' I stitched a couple of years ago used silver (probably the same shade), but I didn't come across the threads when I had a stash rummage the other day. I do have other silvers, but they're more like blending filiment, so probably not suitable.
:rotfl:I do have a few don't I? I probably won't, only because I wish to complete the ones I've got, so that I can move on to more complicated ones, maybe a HAED one day. :o

Thanks to everyone for your help for the silver.

    Hi Gang

Having a sneaky look while I am at work.

I am soooooooo bored. I am so up to date with my work and the boss is away out and not left me anything to do. I don't even have any cross stitch or a book with me - can't access any games on here either (FB Scrabble). So I thought I would write and say hi to all of you and hope you are all well.

Sorry to hear MrsMac that your hubby is unwell. My hubby was unwell a few weeks back. He works as a cook and he called in sick as he has IBS (we think - not confirmed), so had some S&D. He was off for two days. He has had the odd day off here and there because of it (total of 10 days off work since he started in Jan 09 - 4 for flu, 2 the recent S&D bout and 4 days singly for S&D). When he got back he went to his back to work interview. They are giving him a verbal warning about it. He has appealled it so waiting to see what they say. Feel it is unfair. It is his first job in the UK since coming to live with me in Jun 07. It helps relieve some of the pressures I had in paying all the bills on my own wage. We had to rely heavily on the credit cards then - still paying them back now - slow but we will get there - hopefully. I hope his work don't hold it against him - he was being sensible being a cook and not working when he had S&D.

Sorry for rant - just had it bottled up. Best out, than in, as they say. I get so worried about money. I feel awful when we are shopping saying we have to get the cheaper brand of this because its cheaper but end up hating it. I have tried so hard to cut back on things. Felt really bad about buying the stuff for Golden Earth - I could of quite easily done some of the free ones in the mags for a while - think I am going to do that when I finish it. Its an ok design but I agree with MrsMac about the one stitch of this and one of that - driving me crazy. I am starting to plan out my stitching for the parents annivererys soon too. Just need the material for one of them - got the material for the other and all the threads.

Ruth - are Ikea frames really that bad. I was thinking of using one to frame up the Floral Alphabet and buy a made to measure mount from the frame shop that some have mentioned in here - I costed it out and it is too much I feel for both frame and mount from there, though it is probably worth it after all the effort I put into it.

The Floral Alphabet was a tribute to my late husband. So I understand what it is like to do stitching in memory of someone. He seen the start of it and that is why I guess it got abandonded in the shed after he died and I abandoned doing any cross stitching for a while - even tho I still got the magazines in and I read them, dreamed a little, didn't even do kits and just put them to the side - some didn't even come out the envelopes for a while.

Gosh I have went on a bit - sorry for that. Its just in here I have found a kinship that I have not had for a long time. I don't have many friends close by. One stopped talking to me after I remarried - only the occassional round robin email and messages of FB. Sad as we would of been friends 21 years this year - met a Girl Guide camp years ago and became penpals then friends.

Better go and see if I can find some work - guess I could clean out my drawers - oo err missus.

Kind wishes to all - happy stitching

    sweetcarer ;)

    *Groans at MRSM* Too early!!:rotfl:
She is coming along though, that will be a stunning finished piece. Looking forward to seeing the other side of her face :D

Sweetcarer - so sorry to hear about hubby's work probs. I think he was being totally sensible in not going in when he was unwell - as a cook you have to be really careful with any illnesses. Let us know how the appeal goes x
It's hard when money is short - but don't beat yourself up about buying the Golden Earth stuff. Look at it this way: it's bought now, and it means you won't need to buy any more supplies for a number of months, which is easier on the budget.

    Hello all,

hope you're all having a nice day :) I'm having an online window shopping afternoon :p I've got some lovely baby clothes in a shopping basket in one window as we speak, and I'm looking for some cute chicken patterns on ebay - I was watching one (a french country one from a magazine apparantly), but forgot it was ending and missed it :o Also want to find some Hello Kitty patterns :D

I'll try and get a photo later of my sewing for an update :)

:o Aww, thanks. Can I get away with hanging them up as they are, then? Would save loads of time. ;)
    .

Ha ha you could place them all over each other so each one covers the unfinished bit and you can have a wall full of patchwork Cross stitch lol :rotfl::p

Thanks Emzy - could do without him snoring like a wart hog though :rotfl:Honestly sometimes its like a freight train running through the house

Your HAE -was it the 7 hearts one? -I will be gob smacked if I have remembered correctly :rotfl:.... If you aren't able to relax and enjoy it at the moment then I would pack it all up together somewhere safe and choose something a little less stressful -you can always come back to it when you are feeling a little better...

Sounds like my OH...and then he wonders why he is bruised in the morning :rotfl:(only joking Im sure i only nudge him gently And yep well done :T lol it is the seven hearts one, and yes i think thats what ill do...now to find another one, im doing the free kit with my cross stitch mag (i love clubcard vouchers :D) while i decide on a bigger kit.
    ali.b.123 wrote: »
Well, I know its not a mega kit but started the freebie with this months cross stitcher magazine and there doesnt seem to be enough pale peach to finish the face - just wondering if any one else has started it - I think they have got the dark peach & light peach quantities mixed up!! Anyway, have emailed them to see if any chance they can supply more light peach - I doubt I'll get anywhere - but it is worth a chance.

Ive just started that kit and I had exactly the same quantity of pale peach, mid peach and dark peach (2 of each) so sounds like someone packed your kit up wrong  although with the pale peach ive just done the face and only really just about had enough pale peach to do it, Id have been stuck if id made a mistake. So hopefully they'll sort you out more thread or another kit :D

Louise well done for getting another section done!

Squishy hope you're enjoying your shopping afternoon :D

MrsM That design is looking wonderful!

Sweetcarer Rant all you want, its better out than in! I hope your hubby's appeal goes well. They'd soon have been complaining if he'd have given the bug to everyone else!

Kez didn't realise the back stitching was bad on the bookmark too, flipping back stitch isn't good, ive realised this free cross stitch kit has french knots on it.....now do hedgehogs really need eyes?? :rotfl::rotfl:

Ooo talking about hedgehogs we took a rescue one in a juvenile one that was too small to be allowed to hibernate, so had to be kept at room temp. We got him off the rescue centre in November and have had him in a big plastic tub (with holes drilled in) in our office/spare bedroom with us. But we've got to release him in the next couple of weeks.... sounds silly but im going to miss him, its nice sat here on the nights and have him come out and say hello and start ripping his newspaper bed apart lol. Although im not sure ill miss cleaning him out every morning, honestly i never knew they were such messy animals! :D
