Kez didn't realise the back stitching was bad on the bookmark too, flipping back stitch isn't good, ive realised this free cross stitch kit has french knots on it.....now do hedgehogs really need eyes?? :rotfl::rotfl:
Ooo talking about hedgehogs we took a rescue one in a juvenile one that was too small to be allowed to hibernate, so had to be kept at room temp. We got him off the rescue centre in November and have had him in a big plastic tub (with holes drilled in) in our office/spare bedroom with us. But we've got to release him in the next couple of weeks.... sounds silly but im going to miss him, its nice sat here on the nights and have him come out and say hello and start ripping his newspaper bed apart lol. Although im not sure ill miss cleaning him out every morning, honestly i never knew they were such messy animals!
My friend had to do the same for a hedgehog her way, she missed it terribly when it had to be released.0 -
Wow we've got so many people here I can't keep up!
Everyone's work is looking fab, I'll post an update of mine soon. I'm not on target for the challenge though, would have to have a couple of days solid stitching to catch up I think.0 -
well i've had a nice day in the garden with the 2-b-in-laws and we've hoed the front garden and back path/patio, and painted the bottom bit of the house and the step. so i'm now exhausted, but the photos for the estate agent will look better for it.
oh, and i've managed to not mess up doing the text on my kitchen motto, it's only 4 words and a bit bigger than A6 size, so i'm glad it went ok! now to place the chicken...Wow we've got so many people here I can't keep up!
Also, some of you have SO many UFOs at first i couldnt imagine having so many undone/unfinished kits... but then i thought about my curver boxes of fabric bought for different sewing projects and realised i was just as bad but in a different -takes-up-more-room kind of way! :rotfl:
Sweetcarer - i totally know how you feel about work. my boss is practically ignoring me lately and i've so little work to do i'm bored to tears. i never thought i'd actually get board of facebook (but not allowed games) and browsing Flickr, and planning my next sewing projects!!
MrsMcawber - wow! you are really stoming along! :T
Kezybabe - thanks for your link to Flickr, i couldnt help but have a wander around... you might be interested to hear that i live near rockingham and worked at silverstone for years (for a season i was Jenson Button's main waitress when he was doing touring cars i think. ooh, and his dad is a lovely bloke too!)Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Hello all,
hope you're all having a nice dayI'm having an online window shopping afternoon
I've got some lovely baby clothes in a shopping basket in one window as we speak, and I'm looking for some cute chicken patterns on ebay - I was watching one (a french country one from a magazine apparantly), but forgot it was ending and missed it
Also want to find some Hello Kitty patterns
I'll try and get a photo later of my sewing for an update
What sort of chickens are you looking for ? I've got this one, which I'd be pleased to copy for you if it would be suitable.

Right am suffering form withdrawal symptoms and need a break from work stuff so am going to stitch tonight while watching holby city (iplayer) and holby city on tv. There is only so much work a girl can do! Tonight's aim is to get all the grass stitched under the fairies feet - easy and relatively dull and don't have to do much concentrating - the equivalent of chick lit books.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Hi all
Any of you watch Create and Craft? Today I saw what looked like fantastic cross stitched cards, yet most of them weren't stitched at all - but printed onto aida and made into wonderful creations which included 3d decoupage.
The few cards that were stitched looked much more interesting than I have ever seen in a cross stitch mag. This is the CD Rom they used, but this link doesn't show you the fantastic cards that were made.

Just nipping in to say Hi.
Not done any stitching today yet but I'm just off to make a coffee and then get my needle out.
Sweetcarer huge higs honey. My working background is in the hotel industry and apart from anything it is against health and safety regulations for people handling food to do so when they know they are unwell. Hope it all works out OK for you.I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
Hi, just to say got a quick response from cross stitcher saying if they have any spare thread they will send me some...hmmmm 'if'??? Hopefully I will get some soon.
Emzy - your inbox is full but just to say I will pop them in the post on the way to school tomorrow.0 -

Hya everyone, not done much stitching this week on The Astronomer so far, only a few stitches here and there. All your work is looking great!
Today I have been adapting a celtic knot bookmark (from "Celtic Cross Stitch Samplers" by Angela Wainwright) for a friend's 50th next week. I know I should have started earlier...but doing well so far, should finish it tomorrow. I might have to unpick her initials (in the middle, but will wait and see how it looks when finished. I will post a piccie of it when I am done. I may have finished it today, but had to go into work this evening (4-8) to cover for a colleague who is stuck in Egypt due to all this volcano ash...not sure if she is complaining much!
Oh ginnyknit...I have found them!! Will pm you.
Right, off to get some stitching before bed.
Night, night.
