My mum knows about it now as my dad let the cat out of the bag when she complained about my still having the radio on until 5 or 6am so he told her I was stitching a large project which he bought for me to do for her. Now I can do it during the day but she isnt allowed to look, it will make it a lot easier when it comes to beading. Due to the time restraints (got to be done and framed by June 12th) I am still sitting up until about 2am (became addicted to metro radios chat show!) which is better than the 5 and 6 it was.

It's shame in a way that it's not a total suprise, but at least you can stitch some more in the daytime & get more sleep at night now!

Cheeky question: Does anyone have any DMC 5283? The Bang on The Door kit has literally only two blocks of this silver metalic left to do, and I thought I was done with the kit, so threw the threads away. :o

I have the Tigger on waste canvas kit too. Do I take it that if I'm getting rid of any WTP kits, you'll be first in the queue?
Wish I could help with the threads. I know the Bang on the Door 'Hitched' I stitched a couple of years ago used silver (probably the same shade), but I didn't come across the threads when I had a stash rummage the other day. I do have other silvers, but they're more like blending filiment, so probably not suitable.

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A
  • I forgot to mention this earlier, i found another HAE design that doesnt look as as the picture, but its the background that's bad. http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=87_96&products_id=3448

and http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/images/customergallery/Atlantis%20SK%20Chelsea%20Umbach.jpg which i think is the top of http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1803 looks like a well blury version to me, but maybe its just the camera.

It has made me think if i end up taking on one of these i'd make sure i'd saw the finished stitched design before choosing a chart.

MrsM glad they sorted your hubby with some days off in the end, cheeky sods thinking he can work like that[/QUOTE]

Thanks Emzy - could do without him snoring like a wart hog though :rotfl:Honestly sometimes its like a freight train running through the house

Your HAE -was it the 7 hearts one? -I will be gob smacked if I have remembered correctly :rotfl:.... If you aren't able to relax and enjoy it at the moment then I would pack it all up together somewhere safe and choose something a little less stressful -you can always come back to it when you are feeling a little better...

MountainAsh -I think that if it isn't too painful then finishing the zebra would be a lovely thing to do. Or could you get someone to finish it for you?
Spotty butterfly -Those 2 HAE are awful aren't they  -I swear if any I do come out like that I will have a hissy fit and complain ;)

Only "somewhere" in the house I have a bag with about 20 of the DMC light effect bracelet kits in and looking at the listing on line -I SHOULD have that colour in at least some of them,,,, well I think so anyway ..
I will *attempt* to track them down ASAP.... then I can let you know if Im right ;)

Littlestar - I think you have got loads done!! I LOVE that October bear, so cute:D

Ruth - Lol @ you picturing me as a Brunette (technically I am without the dye tho LOL) :rotfl: it's funny how you build up an image of someone just through reading posts :)

Mountain Ash - not long to go, I'm sure it will be done by the end of the month

Spottybutterfly - I dunno if looking at 'not so good' finished HAED's is making me feel better or worse about my own one :rotfl::rotfl:I will be more apprehensive about randomly selecting ones in future lol

Ooh I love seeing all the photos on this thread - there are some lovely ones :T
spotty butterfly - or anyone else if you would like a copy of the pattern just let me know I will be happy to pop one in the post (hope I wont get into trouble about copyright or anything:o)

Well, I know its not a mega kit but started the freebie with this months cross stitcher magazine and there doesnt seem to be enough pale peach to finish the face - just wondering if any one else has started it - I think they have got the dark peach & light peach quantities mixed up!! Anyway, have emailed them to see if any chance they can supply more light peach - I doubt I'll get anywhere - but it is worth a chance.

Right supper time and bed I think - first day back at work tomorrow after a fortnight off with the kids - will be glad of the rest;)

Everyone's progress is looking great :T

I started the 'no place like home' today.
I must admit though that I very nearly packed it away before I got started on it after I saw how many three-quarter stitches there are! Now I have got going they aren't so bad though I do have to check and re-check that I am putting them in the right place :D

I'm doing the colours I am sure of then at the end I'll use what I have left wherever they look right. I know I am definately missing at least 1 colour that is either beige or terracotta and I have an extra green. The coral colour that I first thought was an extra colour that's not needed, I'm now wondering if it actually should be there but just looks wrong at the moment.....like MRSMC's HAE ladys' face. She looked sunburnt to start with but once other colours went in around the face she was perfect.....I'm wondering if the coral colour might end up being the same.

I hate it when kits haven't had their threads pre-sorted for me! :(
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • Littlestar I love the bears callender it's so cute!
Mountainash Your stitching is brilliant. As for the Zebra if it were me I'd finish it. I have found it difficult to finish the afghan I'm doing for sad reasons too but I have found that by pushing on it has made my mind clearer about things, if that make any sense. If you don't feel you can finish it would you like one of us to do it for you and then return it to you finished would that help?

They should do and if they don't tell them that world of xs send you a full new kit ! I have complained about that once and another time there was no kit inside the plastic bag so they sent me 3 to make up for it (still not started). I've not even looked at my kit yet but would like to do it for DD to go with the hedgehog I'm doing just now and frame it with mount/back cover bit.

No stitching here today I've just been too low and stayed in my bed while the kids were at school and slept to block it out I hope for a better day tomorrow.
    I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged
