Still haven't stitched a thing this weekend :( But did go shopping and bought dd a desk (which I then brought home and made) and ds a wardrobe (also made) and then dh announced he was having 2 friends to saty over last night - this is after I had packing boxes and kids clothes and toys all over everywhere! Then dd was sick again in the night so off to chemists later to get her another nasal spray and at some point I will have to deal with the very sicky bedding which dh put in a bin bag outside at 3am cos neither of us could face it!

Hope everyone gets some stitching time - might have to move my deadline to the end of May instead of April now:p

    th_GoldengatebridgeApril16th2010.jpg Here's the finished kit-minus the backstitch/long stitches. :j

I am kicking myself about the frames. I found 2 frames which would be ideal for it, but the mount is just slightly too small. If I had known before I had started stitching, I could've missed 3 rows from the top and 3 or 4 from the bottom of the picture and it would fit perfectly. To be fair, I hadn't bought the frames when I first started stitching, so I couldn't have known. Annoying, though! Will probably use the frame, but get a different mount cut. Which frame do you think looks better? Pine or black? (Just folded the fabric into place to give a rough idea how they'd look)

Ruth - I like the lighter frame better, I think the dark one detracts from the design a bit and overpowers it.

Plus, when I think of the Golden Gate bridge, I think of blue skies and nice weather...the light frame enhances that image iyswim.

  • Hi all hope you are all well today.

Simac love the polar bears they are beautiful so realistic.
pm2326 I love the first pic but think you'll need to be a saint to stitch it with all those similar colours.
sweetcarer great pic it's really coming along.
    Mrsmcawber brilliant win !
Ruth-honey That must be maddening not being able to find your kits. I find my craft box over whelming at times too. I think it's a great idea to sell what you can part with on ebay. I have bought partialy started kits on there before infact i'm bidding on one now. I love the golden gate bridge (big charmed fan). I like the pine frame better it draws you eye to the stitching, if that makes sense.
Dora hope you manage a bit of stitching today. Hope your DD is feeling a bit better now.

Well a little stitching done here last night but I hope to get some done now as OH has taken the two boys to Kirkcaldy today so it's just me an DD so I'll suggest a movie day

    Happy stitching everyone.

Here is two I have done - one for me and hubby (brown aida one) and one for my boss (cream aida). There is an extended version of the cream one - I will be doing it for my parents anniversery (only takes about 3 weeks to do - where the small one about a week). I have done this extended version a few times for wedding presents over the years - think I have done about 10 altogether but have no photos of them. They are both from cross stitch mags. The brown was originally I done for me and my late husband on white aida and looks like lace. Its is at the bottom. Hope this helps the person who is looking for a wedding gift.

Wow what a great selection. I would suggest sorting them out and if need be getting rid of some, although I wouldn't want to choose cause I really like them;). Then make a list, pin it some where start at the top then work down till you have them all done. In the mean time don't buy any more or start any new kits. If you feel tempted come on here and I'll sort you out ! Now get stitching you have some brilliant ones there I'm envious.

sweetcarer love the samplers they are beautiful.

oooohhhhh my word.... thats some collection :rotfl:
First things first -If you don't get your wedding picture done I will be forced to slap your legs ;)

Looking at them I would sort them out into order of which needs least work doing to it..and do those first -just think of the joy of finishing one and crossing it off your list :T... then I would sort those with the most left into which are your faves, and which you have planned for gifts (if any) or those you could use as gifts for xmas (think of the money you will save -which you can use for new cross stitch stuff once you are done :rotfl:) -Im a lot of help aren't I :p
Right Im off for a proper nosey -I will be back...
