I got married when I was 21 too! Only 3 weeks before my 22nd birthday though. It's be 8 years for us next month-2 days before your anniversary, *Louise*!MRSMCAWBER wrote: »Evening everyone.... hope you are all having a good weekend,,,
Lots more lovely work going on folks...well done :T
Glad those nudge nudge wink winks have started to arrive at last...not sure what bloomin route they took though to take that long :rotfl:
*Louise* -Your sewing is looking lovely -but I can see what you mean about the colours (they don't seem quiet true to the picture ) but you have been spoilt by how accurate your lady by the lake was... is there suposed to be kreinlik blending fillament blended with the colours -to give it that extra shimmer? If you want to highlight the dress straps -you could alway use some of the kreinlik(if you have some) and just try doing a half stitch with it over the dmc colours (/ or \ sort of half -not fractional ...hope that ramble makes sense :rotfl:
PM2326 -I prefer the first wedding pic too ..I think the 2nd one will date/age quickly and the 3rd one -I love but i think its more of a definite taste than the 1st one
Well I am back to the 1 of this and 1 of that stitching again... so things have slowed down a little but Im still enjoying it
ooohh I ordered the threads I need for the next 4 proojects... only had to order 100 threads as I checked my files and I have the other 140 :T .... ooohh and to top it all when we nipped out earlier I popped into the NAAFI and hubby put his loose change in the bandit (anything to avoid going into the shops) and he won another €210 :T-so thats his golf comp fees etc covered for the month and €60 each for us :j(im NOT going to buy any more supplies though -honest)
....
right back to some sewing..have a great evening everyone
Send some luck this way, please! Could do with a windfall-big or small.Well done to your hubby, again.
I'm just uploading some pics onto [STRIKE] Photobucket [/STRIKE] Flickr (photobucket drove me nuts!). I have an inkling that Webshots gave our PC a virus a week or so ago, and when I just tried to upload the pics on there, it came up with a warning & closed the page, so I'm going to leave them & use [STRIKE] Photobucket [/STRIKE] Flickr from now on. Might take me a while to get used to it, though. Will let you know when the pics are up.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

hmmm, I like the art nouveau charts, and a couple of the fine art, the geisha girl, one of the Christmas patterns etc etc etc ..........:D
Was it Oscar Wilde who said " I can resist anything but temptation" ?

Hey everyone, done a lot of stitching today, nearly got one of the wings finished amd considering it is in 5 different metalic shades I am impressed.
My world of cross stitch from the 5 for £5 arrived this morning and I got excited as on the front it said cards for dad and I would like to make him one but there were no designs for dads in there! Unless he wants carrots or tomatoes on a card! Gonna find a small pint pattern for him!Time for an update - got another section completed.
In all honesty I'm not so sure how I feel about this atm.....it's not as like the picture as my previous HAED was. I'm disappointed with the colours in the wings, they're not as blue as I feel they should be, plus you can hardly make out the strap on her dress.
I'm telling myself to stop looking at the original, am hoping the overall look of it will be good when it's finished and her face is in place.... and no one else will have seen the original lol
I have started stitching my own border round it, just to stop it looking like it's been 'cut off' at the edges :-s
Here's the original picture:

I see what you mean about the colours, there does seem to be quite a difference but like you said to me it might look better when all done but they dont seem as bright yet.I'm still looking for a wedding sampler for my friends daughter, love the tatty teddy ones, but I know the backstitch is tedious so been looking for something else...has anyone done any of these before?

These three are the ones I like best so far. I realise there is a lot of backstitch on all of them but think it will be alot easier than the Tatty Teddy ones, but I'm not sure which one I should go for, the couple are in their early twenties so dont know if the samplers are too mature if you know what I mean...the bride to be has had a really bad time for two years and he has been her rock, they are mature beyond their years as a result but are the samplers taking it too far? Decisions, Decisions...
Well off to start my huge list of jobs, washer is about to finish and the longer I sit here the less chance of finding time to stitich! Have a productive day everyone x
In the new world of cross stitch there is a special on wedding samplers so a few pages full of them so you may find it useful looking at that to see if there is one you fancy.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member No 2 :j

Morning all -just enjoying a cuppa before I whack the brisket in the oven and then settle down with some sewing :T-hubby is golfing so its lovely n quiet too
*louise* -I forgot to say -when I have been noseying through the HAE sight I have seen a couple of other charts that show examples of the finished work that aren't as good as the pics
http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=87_94&products_id=2077
I have this one to do-
http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=87_94&products_id=3446
and even though its not too bad, it isn't as good as the pic -I think the back ground is too dense and wishywashy -so I think when I do it I will have to alter the backgroundor look into those hand died fabrics to see if there is a good alternative
....
Ruth -I use imageshack and have not had any problems YET
Right I will get off and get on with some sewing..have a great day evryone..-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

OMG that one is blimmin awful!! I would be gutted if I had done that one lol.
I think for a HAED design I need to forget the original and judge on the final result, nothing is going to be exact in stitches.
No stitching today, got shopping to do. Hubby doesn't know it yet (I will break the news at the last minute hehe) but I need to pop into Hobbycraft :j:j:j He reckons there's a black hole in there cos I tend to disappear and don't come back for ages...:o:DCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Hi *Louise*
I seem to remember someone on here (sorry can't remeber who -again) -was getting that HAE "summer fairy" -I think to do on a round robin.... I hope they didn't -unless its a bad photo of the sewn piece then I would be more than  at the difference between the pic and the sewing.
The thing is that its the picture that makes you decide which chart to do - so if they are going to come out nothing like its ridiculous
Im wondering if its down to different designers..
My "forest light" was by Johnathon Earl Bowser and that was accurate -so I would do one of his again...
The other 4 I have to do are by Rachel Anderson -who, when I have just checked did that "summer fairy" -So I will have to see how the first one goes;)
If you look on the HAE site they have a "gallery" section of pieces done -so you can see which come out really well -might be worth considering before you pick another
Fancy sneaking a "shopping trip" on hubby -thats cruellllll :rotfl: -pretty much evrything is closed here on a Sunday :T -I avoid shopping on a Saturday as much as possible
Right -back to my sewing....-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hmm, i use photobucket so not much help, maybe try http://imageshack.us/ or a public facebook album?MRSMCAWBER wrote: »Ruth -I use imageshack and have not had any problems YET

Thank you. I've got over my diva fit now.Think I was annoyed because I hate change with something like that. Having to learn where everything is. Anyway, I'm back on Photobucket because that seems to be the closest to Webshots set up. Busy transferring all my photos over to there, then I can share them. Made me realise just how much stitching I've done!
