    Hello all,

am looking for some info please! Been looking back, but obviously have skimmed past the posts I need :o

    1) Where do you get bulk discounted threads?
    2) Someone a while back posted an ebay listing for some cushion covers which had an inset part that you could put cross stitch into: would anyone have a picture of these?

    Thanks ladies :D
  • Hi All

I've been lurking on this site for a couple of years and have just come across this thread - I'm loving it - although haven't managed to read through every post yet.

I have 2 UFO's at the moment - 1 I have no interest in finishing (may pass it to my Mum) and the other one I have started again. It's one of the Dimensions Gold Collection Teddy Bear ones (I've done 3 previously). I love cross stitch but do struggle for time to do it. Work full time, run own house and 2 kiddies plus a hubby so really thats 3. lol.

Would love to join you all. Can anyone advise me how best to start off a photo album so I can show you all my handiwork? I've just started to learn DD to cross stitch and she has started a very small Raymond Briggs' the Snowman design. May get finished by Xmas 2010..

    Kat x

P.S. I also have a facebook addiction - bejewelled and farmtown/farmville, etc etc etc
  • i have spare wooden hoop if you would like it , i got a bundle of them from charity shop, pm your address and i will happerly send one your way

i also agree that this forum is like an extended family, but umm not been on fb ever  but i love scented candles:D:D

Hya Squishy - you get discounted threads here, at Across Town Stitching

I find using Internet Explorere as your browser, rather than Firefox, works so much better...you see the colours for one thing!! I sent Louise the threads list before ordering, just to make sure she had them all (I ordered 150!). She was a couple short, but sent the rest once she got them. She is great and often is online in the evenings, so if you e-mail her, you very often get a reply that day/evening!

Sorry, I can't help you with the e-Bay cushions.

As to everyone being addicted to FB - sorry I am not one of them, I have never been on FB....ever!!! Not sure if that is a good or bad thing, considering I am an IT tutor!

This is the only online community that I subscribe to and visit regularly...so I guess I am hooked on MSE...especially to this thread! :D

Back to topic (ahem :o!) - not done any stitching yesterday, nor today, though might try and squeeze an hour in tonight. I had a friend visiting this morning and unexpectedly ended up going to work from 4 to 8 (colleague's cow had trouble calving!!). Might go and have a natter with DH, as have hardly seen him today...then will try and get some sitiching done....working tomorrow morning again.

Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone.

Being on this forum is like talking to family :)

I disagree...my family drives me crazy most of the time. You girls I love! :p
i used to be addicted to fb but now dare i say it i find it boaring

    'runs off to hide'

I do now too. Ever since Grandma died, I just don't see the point in it. But in a way that's good because it's given me far more stitching time. I've been FB free for 10 days now! :D And I've almost finished the Golden Gate Bridge kit, so yeah me! :T
My little baby has lost her first tooth today:(. and as luck would have it she is booked in to have photos done with her brothers at the end of the month *insert rolls eyes smilie here*. On the plus side she will be able to use her tooth fairy pillow for the first time and she is all excited about them coming for her tooth.:T

That might've been me, but it's not an ebay shop. They're called tuck pillows and I bought mine from here... http://www.jayniffadesigns.com
You can probably find them on ebay too, though. I think they're fab, as I have zero sewing skills!

This is my current project in_a_twinkling-1.jpg

    from this book

And here is my progress santa140410no2.jpg?t=1271283423

It has 57 colours and is the biggest cross stitch project I've attempted! Hopefully I'll finish it before I buy one of those fab H&E charts lol

Sorry the pics are massive, am going to try and work out how to make them smaller :rotfl:

    Hi sk00bie & welcome!

I also use photobucket and resizing pics is easy when you know how. Once you have uploaded your pic and it's in your album there should be some links above the pic that say edit, move, share, delete. Click on edit then click on resize. I usually use percentages and go to about 50x50 and save a copy. Then I paste the IMG code into my MSE post and preview post just to make sure I have made it a nice size. When I am happy I submit.
