Time for an update from me.

Here is where I was on the 6th:

And here is today (well last night really, but I've not done any more yet!):

I don't think I'm quite going to reach my April challenge but I'm still pleased with progress and enjoying the bright colours.

I don't mind back stitching and grey would be a nice change from brown, lol. My Country Companions kit had loads of back stitching all the flowers, bricks, bench, etc. I may do another CC one after a Tatty Ted one :)
It's not so much that, it's the random backstitch of Anchor, which doesn't use the holes that are given to you, as you've got to figure out where to put it all, which is annoying and headache inducting for me, when I prefer things straight forward.

The greys weren't a problem in this UFO that I still have waiting for completion:
    http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&uid=&Prod_Code=32363&ww=on&do=search_results
But it's the back-stitching that's waiting to be done, one day...

As to my main UFO, I'm half way through the bees and clouds, though I won't have much time to do any this week, I'm busy with work and off to London on Wednesday night with my boyfriend for his birthday.

Don't worry ladies, I'm taking it with me, just in case I get time to do it. :rotfl: We're travelling up to Mallory Park on Saturday so I might be able to do some while travelling.

I'll edit this later with an update photo as part of Bubbles challenge.

Everyone is doing some fantastic work, this mini-challenge is certainly focussing the mind!

Wow, I have found I can post thumbnails of my piccies! :j

I had only done as much as this until last week:
DSCF0072.JPG Now, I have got this far! DSCF0079%281%29.JPG

It's now beginning to look like something other than a hotch-potch of colours (and sooo many different colours) :D. I do think I will get this page finished, then on to the next one...there are 45 in this design!!

Looks like I could actually reach my target by the end of this month! (to get this page completed and at least half of the next one). I am so enjoying getting back to sewing, though I really must stop working until 3 in the morning! :o

    ginnyknit - I haven't forgotten you...still looking! :D

A bit cooler today, have to get yet more seeds sown....got lots sown yesterday, as well as other things round the garden (hence the late night sewing!).

Have a great week sewing everyone.

    Hi ellie.
Santa is looking great, I can't wait to start him myself!
I am going to have to wait though because I ridiculously got myself a parking fine on Thursday for failing to get a ticket from the machine in a FREE car park :o I am so cross with myself
So now with a £60 fine under my belt I can't afford the threads and fabric.

Nevermind, it's not like I don't have any other kits to be going on with. I just wanted to have him on the wall for this xmas :(
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

oh bloomin heck Shelly -what a pain... Im sure those free car parks tuck their machines into the deepest darkest corners :(

    Keiss-thats coming along lovely
Elliep -I have that chart still tucked away -the more I see yours the more Im determined to get it done *eventually* :D
Lots of lovely work going on agaain,,,,well done everyone :T

I have tootled through my file of threads and narrowed my list down :j-for the 4 HAE quick stitch charts I needed 240 skeins.....now I have looked at what I have -I will only need 95 :p-so I will up it to 100 for £26 and I have a full meter of 28ct even weave..so I will be all set .....although I have been drooling over some other designs for my niecypoo :o

Gosh, everyone has been getting so much done, I have really been slacking over the weekend :o

Still, we got the garden done, decking painted and the planters/flowerbed done. Today I have had a washing and kitchen cleaning frenzy....dunno what's come over me, must be the hot weather lol

Still, I have a spare hour just now, kids are drawing so am going to see what I can get done

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine  :)

    Hi everyone,

I am new member and just wanted to drop a quick note in your section. I love cross stitch and hope to meet you all better soon.

I am currently stitching a fantasy fairy - will be posting a pic soon (when I remember where exactly I've got my camera!)

I used to do cross stitch years ago when my mum did it. I want to get back into it but dont really know the best way to start. Starter kits I find a bit to simple for me to do.

Does anyone know anywhere to get cheap kits anywhere? All the ones I see are really dear for what I can afford.

PS. Especially looking for fantasy fairy sort of thing for my OHs mums bday!
