New challenge finish birth sampler by end of the month
No matter how much life knocks you down, it's your ability to get back up, brush yourself off and face your next set of challenges that makes you stronger0 -
god my post was that long loads of people have posted since I started writing it! pm you are coming along with it really nicely, it looks really complicated and fiddly.
Sweet carer its looking really good. OMG I can only imagine what it would be like to get us all in a chat room! I think my keyboard would break and I wouldnt be able to meet up. Its a shame really that we are all of the country and in some cases other countries or we could have had a meet up stitch and !!!!! session!!!
NMM your design is really coming along now, it wont be long until you have finished. What is your next design going to be.
I dont suppose anyone has the last issue of cross stitch gold and could scan the cover picture of a water garden in for me? my dad likes it and I have been bidding for one on ebay but at £2 plus postage I cant afford it as sad as that sounds. I am also going to make him the card and keyring in the new cross stitch crazy.
Maria I really like the bra design, I think the different ones are so funny. One of my friends lives in Edinborough so in the future I might do it for her but it will be a long way off as I have at least a years stitching lined up.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member No 2 :j

funfairprincess - coming along nicely there
Ruth - I really like that design, it's something which would catch my eye as well
pm2326 - I LOVE those shades:j Sometimes you are better doign a simpler part first as it makes you feel you have done more which spurs you on for the harder parts
nmm - Not much longer to go, you can see you are on the home straight now, it's looking great:T
maria - yay for EdinBRA :T:rotfl:hope you get it done tonight
Bubbles - I think with a lot of designs some colours can look a little out of place at first, but once you get either backstitch or other colours around them they look really good

Everyone is doing so well!
I am starting to think the challenge of finishing Calendar Bears by April was hugely ambitious; I work full time, and I only see OH at weekends (we don't live together yet) so time with him isn't spent stitching (unless we are in front of the TV). It's sad I am looking forward to him working next Sunday so I can get a full days stitching in!!! On top of that I also have to write, by the end of April, 56 child sponsorship letters for the Baby Home I volunteer at in Tanzania.. yikes!
I will just see how much I get done...
Anyway won't post a pic today, that would waste 10 minutes stitching time lol!!!OU Student! - ED209, SDK125, DSE212, SK124, DSE141, SD226, DXR222, DD303, DD307 = BSc Psychology0 -

Had a castrophe after I posted last...my standing frame fell apart with my stitching still attached !!!
Have spend the last hour fixing it all back together again
Bubbles, I think you should perservere with the colours in the chart, as Louise says a lot of colours look out of place when you first start.. on mine when I started the sky there were odd colours i.e purples, oranges and bright reds and I convinced myself they were wrong, so much so that i covered the stitching up everytime i walked away to make a cuppa etc...its only now that i have finished that part and look at it from a distance rather than close up that I can see they all blend in well....hope that makes sense !
Louise I also love these colours, I thought it would be too much doing browns and creams when I first saw the chart but as I say above..there's more weird colours than I/you expect :rotfl:0 -
Bubbles, can you edit my challenge to just complete the lions by the end of the month  I failed miserably on my mini challenge :rotfl: Hmm, my next project is going to be something simple and small like a Tatty Ted or something. Your angel is really nice, the border will set it off perfectly, have faith
Ruth, wow you got loads done, looking great.
Maria, almost done, then end is in sight, its looking brill.
Sweetcarer, good progress so far, i hope you get away from the confetti stitching soon
pm, your golden reflections is really lovely, the colours are perfect
funfair, great progress on the hedgehog, i'm glad you managed to sort the threads out, he will be so cute.
Has anyone used pm stitch creator, if so what was the end result like? I'm trying to turn a grim reaper picture into a cross stitch and not sure how many threads to use so i set 50. I have loads of excellent dragon pictures to try too but i am worried they will turn out rubbish :rotfl: Any input would be great.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0 -
Morning all
Hope everyone has had a good weekend ... there some more great work going on ....well done folks :T
I have been sat merrily sewing this weekend :jso here we have last week :-
and last night :-
I got quite a bit done so Im a happy bunny.... and Im thrilled with how realistic she is looking :T-I think this is going to be my favourite finished piece....
I sat last night in bed (hubby was watching the end of the masters) so I took over the bed with my new patterns and made a list of all the threads the 4 charts needed, then condensed them into 1 list and now Im just finishing going through my file of colours so I can see what needs to be ordered..
To top this weekend -hubby was golfing and stuck €2 in the slot machine in the club house and won €140 ...and came home and gave me half -with instructions that "it was to be spent on *me* things and not just for general stuff" -so me thinks it might have to go towards threads :rotfl:
Poppet -I have only done 1 HAE so far (forest light) ...and Im waiting for my frames to arrive so I can get her framed and up on the wall... Im planning on doing something for my niece to help brighten up the apartment she is about to move in to ..its very clinical and stark...
I think anything from this range may be the one -she is only 18 and they are SO her:-

Im in love with this one

Her stuff arrives in Sweden from the UK today ..and apparently the first thing to do is to put up the big celtic dragon picture I made her a few years ago. I can sew for someone else as long as they don't know Im doing it ...just in case I decide I want to keep it :rotfl:
well enough waffle .... I had better get off and make a cuppa and whip round with the vaccuume...have a great day everyone-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Actually must go and plant some seeds, stick a chicken in the Sc and then I can do my own thing.

I got bored doing the confetti stitching on the centre piece so moved to page 1..and finished it :j
PM2326 - i'm amazed at how much you did on the other page!
Bubbles - your photo frames look really lovey
Maria - wishing you speedy stitching on the remaining bras!
nmm - dont feel disheartened, i'd be going crazy and totally wrong with all those browns!
MrsMcawber - it's looking really lovely. and BRAVO!! on the win and the kind husband!!
well, i've procrastinated on figuring out how to get the motto into the right size of aieda. then remembered someone posting a link to an alphabet chart thingy. but i cant find it. can anyone re-post the link please? once figured out it should be fairly simple to stitch, so perhaps i'll be brave/silly and join the challenge!

Morning all - it's an absolutely gorgeous day here. Far too nice to be stuck in the office.
It was a fab weekend - particularly as my local team, Ross County, beat Celtic to go through to the final of the Active Nation Scottish Cup.
I've not done that much stitching this weekend but I'll post an update when I get home.
Everyone is really getting on with it. The updates look brill.
