Gosh I love it on here, so its ok to stop doing the washing and cross stitch then?:T Ok as long as you all say its ok, thats the plan then! Actually must go and plant some seeds, stick a chicken in the Sc and then I can do my own thing.

    Hope everyone enjoys the day.

This is the UFO I'm currently working on. By the dates in my webshots album, I haven't stitched anything on it for 2 years! Here's what it looked like in 2008...

And this is how far I've gotten as of lunchtime today...

I didn't want to put it down yesterday. I barely stopped stitching from noon until about 9pm. It has plently of blending, the 'lovely' heritage stitchcraft 'squashed' stitches (on evenweave it goes across one thread and up two to make the stitch), so not that easy to follow sometimes.

I forgot to welcome all the new stitches yesterday too. Sorry girls! Welcome to the cafe. Have a :coffee: on me! I'll have to read through the other posts and reply later/tomorrow. Need to get back to my stitching & let hubby on the PC.

This is what it will look like when done (hopefully!)

    Hi Gang

Here is my update - should of posted yesterday but couldn't find camera. Found it in hubbys work bag.

    Week4.jpg

Not done as much as I wanted tho as was at it every night for a couple of hours. Why is there so much confetti stitching!!!

Welcome to all the new members.

Well done on all of us reaching 100 pages. Was thinking earlier in the week what it would be like if we all got into a chat room one night. There would be smoke coming of the keyboards throughout as we would be chatting away so much.

    Kind wishes to all

    sweetcarer ;)

MrsM, I've sent you a pm. I'm so sorry I didn't respond before now.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Back to work and nursery for us tomorrow, still on the KIT days so back to mummy groups and stuff Tuesday but tonight has to be spent preparing for work so no stitching for me at the moment. Done quite well so far, only got a bit of face, feet and back stitching to do. Be glad when it's finished and the new babys vest is done too. Don't think I'll be using the waste canvas again in a hurry.

Hello all, I hope you won't mind me joining in?

I have been a regular on the site for ages and never noticed this cafe before!!

Welcome to the cafe! Your designing sounds really interesting, I would love to design one of my dog but not arty enough. As others said we love seeing others work so feel free to post up any pics and you can join in with our challenge if you like.
bubbles just to let you know i have just bought a daylight bulb 24w energy saver one from ebay for £2.89 plus £1.89 postage and its brilliant i have got mine in the main light as i dont have a lamp and it makes things so much easyer, and your cross stitchs is coming on so fast, well done for going to the park your are doing so well

That is a fantastic tip, I have just bought one off ebay now, possibly from the same seller as its the same price! Your work is coming along well.

I nearly had a disaster last night, could not put my stitching down (apparently due to elevated bi polar) so was stitching away at 6 with my ipod on when all of a sudden my mum appeared in the room! I jumped a mile and tried to throw my duvet over the angel but in the process ended up throwing a open thread box across the room, half showering my mum and 2 ending up in the dogs water bowl!!! so I have 2 threads drying on the radiator, hopefully they will be ok but luckily one I had finished with and one only has 5 stitches left to do which Im sure can be salvaged. I told her I was working on a card kit and lied that I got a shock as I had been singing along to ipod! She seemed to buy it, I hope.

Anyway it was my brothers girlfriends birthday today so I made up the frames I had made and they actually turned out better than expected. She isnt a crafty person so I wasnt sure if she liked them but she was really touched I had put in so much effort. I am always warey about who I give stitching to as when I was 14 I did a huge birth sampler for my niece and it took 8 months, I gave it to them at her christening and it has been shoved in a cupboard ever since. Their pet rabbit had died shortly before and instead of saying it was nice he said oh another rabbit to eat as the design was of various rabbits and I was really upset so wont make anything for his famly now, although my niece that is 16 might appreciate one now. Anyway here is the frames and Pink_Princess on MSE (bgf) with the completed frames:

    P1010209.jpg

    P1010208.jpg

And as for the angel I will be finished the dress by 10pm which is a whole week earlier than I set in the challenge. Just as well as I have the wings, lots of beading and a complicated border to do. I have changed quite a lot of the design to make it more sparkly. Still not sure about the conversion, the white (well actually light pink but looks white) just doesnt seem to fit. Im sure the company did it like that for a reason but think it looks odd. What do you think?

If anyone wants adding to the challange list or to amend their challenge pm me. I was wondering if maybe we should give ourselves challange numbers to put in put in our sigs so more people find out about the thread like "cross stitch cafe challange member 4". What do you think?

    Happy stitching!
