Its been a busy day today. vets first thing with the cat then into town for lunch/shopping/chat with friends.

back home for an unplanned bbq given the lovely weather :j.

Ive managed to fit in some stitching :D. I am stitching an easter card for next year :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: and I have been looking on ebay for cross stitch christmas cards !!!

I only started the easter card yesterday ! and hopefully I will be able to finish it tomorrow. Im planning on doing lots of little cards for the minute. Quick and easy to do and will be great if I can build up a little collection rather than finding myself paying over the odds in card shops.

Tomorrow its the battle of cross stitch v housework. Hmmm.. thats a difficult one !:D

hugs all and hope you are having a lovely weekend and happy 100 :T:T:T:T

I have quite a collection of free christmas designs, some from here http://www.craftcreations.com/Section.aspx?SectionID=939 and some from here http://crossstitch.about.com/od/freecrossstitchpatterns/a/crossstitcha2z.htm

The first is the back issues of an online craft magazine so you have to winnow through those to find the cross stitch. The second is allsorts but lots of christmassy ones.

When I find a pattern I like, I save it on my computer.

I haven't bought a christmas one for ages now :o

Hi, I am new to this thread but not to cross stitch. ......Now my Dd is due to deliver my first grandchild so I want to do Beatrix potter pictures or samplers but cannot afford shop prices. I have bid for a couple of charts on e bay that were cheap but has anyone seen any charts on the sites they go on.

Hya ginnyknit - two of my UFOs are Beatrix Potter birth samplers for my two boys (whoe are now 20 and 17!). If you want, I could root out the charts...and...ahem..make some copies...ahem, nudge, nudge, wink, wink!! When I find the charts, I will post piccies. It migh just inspire me to actually finish them...in one, I only need to stitch the words in the middle, (lots of BP characters around the edge)...so it wouldn't take long...it would make a great break from The Astronomer. Mind you, I have had a break of over a month, so I really need to keep going with it.

Everyone has been doing fantastic progress, despite the distraction of children and wonderful weather!! I did quite a bit last night...into the wee small hours...far too late if I am honest...but I wanted to finish an area...which of-course always takes longer than you think, especially when you are tired!!

I am on my own today (and had quite a lie in to catch up on my sleep!! :o). DH has gone off to Leeds to watch DS2 play rugby against Yorkshire today, and they won't be back until 5 or so this evening, so more stitching methinks!!

Mind you...I REALLY must sow seeds today...so sowing first, before I reward myself with sewing!! We did quite a bit of tidying in the garden yesterday, DH has prepared another area for some of the masses of potatoes we have chitting in the conservatory. The area had lots of plants I potted up when we cleared part of the front garden for off-road parking....that was three years ago, and I am quite amazed how many of them have survived the winter...unlike some of my larger shrubs, which popped their clogs...mind you, I have too many plants anyway (at least that's what DH thinks!!). So while DH dug, I tidied, repotted and split lots of plants...fairly went through some compost though!

Have a great Sunday everyone... I will post a piccie of my progress on The Astronomer later tonight, or tomorrow...and the Beatrix Potter charts (and my UFOs...if I can find them! :)).

Am feeling much better today - had a long talk to myself last night and sorted out a lot of things I needed to get sorted! Have been for a nice walk this morning before church - I used to do a bit of running and think I miss that little bit of free exercise time and I am a bit of a fresh air freak!

Not planning on doing much stitching today cos got planning to do for school and am helping run an Easter egg hunt this afternoon in our local park

Thanks for the welcome. My website's still on my computer, it's just not live any more. I do have a webshots album with my completed projects on, but I haven't updated that for ages either!! I'm hopeless. This work thing gets in the way!

Currently knitting as well, a Debbie Bliss cardi for myself. I have over 30 UFOs in my cross stitching though, and I also scrapbook. Too many hobbies, not enough time!

    Hi all,

not posted this week as I've been out and about. My sis has been on holiday and we've been to a garden centre, out to lunch with mum and yesterday to the Scrapbooking and Stamping show at Alexandra Palace. So all-ln-all I've spent loads this week - luckily I'm hoping to get a tax refund shortly (hope it arrives, else my credit card will earn interest ).

I've just finished some sunflowers and nearly done with some peonies but I need to wash them to get the washable ink lines out - first time I've used the pen and I'm scared in case it isn't really "wash-out". I'll put some pictures up later in the week.

I'm off to do some gardening now - do you think it's OK to mow the lawn on a Sunday afternoon or should I respect my neighbours' peace & quiet and leave it until tomorrow ?

    Linda xx;)
