wahoo page 100 arnt wee all a chatty lot lol
had a night mare yesterday got up kids all excited to go off to the zoo picnic all packed, going down the motorway and a belt on the car snapped lost all power steering and battery power, cue lots of swearing from hubby and lots of frantic phone calls sitting on the hard shoulder for an hour with all 3 kids ditting in a row waiting to be picked up and then spent the rest of the day at my brothers garage whilst the car was fixed. actually made it to the zoo today and had a great time, and a bit of sewing done on the journey just about to put the baby to bed and then curl up and watch last nights lost and do some more thats if baby sleeps as he had a late nap in the car on the way home13 in 2013 challenge 9/130 -
Hi, I am new to this thread but not to cross stitch.
sorry, how rude of me. hello ginnyknit! welcome to the friendliest area on MSE.Ruth_honey wrote: »Well done! She looks really good. What's next on your list?
humm, you had to ask, didnt you!i want to stitch a cupcake from a magazine the other month, but i really want to stitch a motto for the kitchen. i've got the aieda from a 99p kit, and threads, and an alphabet in a magazine, and a cheap glass-less frame from a charity shop. So i just need to figure out how it all fits together!
oh, does anyone know of any nice boarders / motifs with kitchen-y things on? i'd love a cherry boarder and something like and a mixing spoon to go round the motto.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Hiya everyone, its been a gorgeous day today hasnt it, my nephew is staying with us so my mum persuaded me to go with them to the park 2 minutes from our house. It was nice but there were a lot of people there so I was a but panicky but survived. Thanks for all of your support on here, Its nice to know you are all here to encourage and support me. This thread is about more than just cross stitch and on that note :jHappy 100 pages! Group hug everyone :grouphug:. God that looks dodgy!Ruth_honey wrote: »Could you just buy a daylight bulb for a lamp you already have? So i'll try and complete it and the backstitch . I did pick it up and do a little more yesterday but here's a pic and what it should look like here .
Crafty Granny welcome to the thread! I have added your name to the list, I will be posting up the update tomorrow to spur everyone on and you will be on there.23rdspiral wrote: » a nice sunny day, but i wasnt really in the mood. OH is off out and i enjoyed watching Bicentenial Man on tv... AND i finished my japanese doll!!!:D:D ok, so it's not a huge masterpiece, but it is the biggest Xstitch i've ever done! I'm pleased with being able to do the 4 fractionals and the backstitch, but am actually sad she's finished. is that odd? anyway, here she is:
i think i'll get a simple frame and put her up in the bedroom to remind myself i CAN actually follow a pattern (mostly! i extra stitch and 4 extra backstiches:o).
Spiral this looks lovely finished, you have made a really good job of it.
Ginny Knit congratulations on becoming a grandma! I cant help with the beatrix potter designs but will keep an eye open for you.
I went to a charity shop on the way back from the park and they had an envelope for 20p which said various cross stitch/embroidery needles and I am always losing needles so thought I would get it. When I got it home it had a pebble of tapestry needles which I dont like, they are too long for me, and also 47 proper cross stitch needles like the ones that come in little packets with kits, most of these are DMC, and also a set of various sized sewing needles. So if anyone needles needles you know where to come!!
Anyway I have done some stitching over the last few days but not as much as I hoped but if things go according to plan the dress will be finished tonight/early hours a whole week ahead of the challenge but it dawned on me the beads will take a long time to do so trying to rush the rest. Im still not sure of the colours, I think the white down the front looks odd. what do you think?Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member No 2 :j

:j:j:jThanks all plenty for me to be looking at! been searching the house for all my bits and bobs and found a little folder with some great little charts in. I may have won a copy of cross stitch mag on E bay full of Beatrix potter so cross your fingers for me. I got all the rest of babys Beatrix stuff from one of the pound shops so just need the sampler to finish it.

Its been a busy day today. vets first thing with the cat then into town for lunch/shopping/chat with friends.
back home for an unplanned bbq given the lovely weather :j.
Ive managed to fit in some stitching. I am stitching an easter card for next year :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: and I have been looking on ebay for cross stitch christmas cards !!!
I only started the easter card yesterday ! and hopefully I will be able to finish it tomorrow. Im planning on doing lots of little cards for the minute. Quick and easy to do and will be great if I can build up a little collection rather than finding myself paying over the odds in card shops.
Tomorrow its the battle of cross stitch v housework. Hmmm.. thats a difficult one !:D
hugs all and hope you are having a lovely weekend and happy 100 :T:T:T:T0 -
and I have been looking on ebay for cross stitch christmas cards !!!
Do they need to be kits or are you just looking for charts, because I have a number of Christmas card designs in my stash which I could email you if you want?Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Hello all, I hope you won't mind me joining in?
I have been a regular on the site for ages and never noticed this cafe before!!
I have been a cross stitcher for many many years. I stitch mostly big projects and I prefer to stitch on linen although I will use evenweave. Just bought my daughter her first kit, a little Shepherds Bush one called 'Feed my Sheep' (we like sheep!!)
A couple of my friends cross stitch too and tease me that I could open a shop. That's not a joke - I have literally hundreds and hundreds of charts and kits - I have to catalogue them. I made myself stop buying them - it's an illness!
I used to design too, when I was on maternity leave. I had my own website.
Loved catching up with what you are all stitching!0
