Hi poppett - coming along nicely there.
Just a suggestion for you - have you tried putting a cushion on your knees then the frame on top? I find having it raised a little higher stops me leaning down and causing backache.
Also - attach your work so you are working at the bottom of the frame, rather than the top iyswim, then move the fabric down as you get higher up.
My own HAED is almost finished - I'm down to half of the last page to go. However I need to put it down for a few days as I have to go away this weekend so won;t work on it again till at least MondayHopefully this time next week I shall be posting the final pics though :j (will be nice to see it washed and without all the blue lines through it lol):rotfl:
I shall be watching this thread with anticipation then Louise. Can't wait to see your finished HAE, how long have you been working on it?
My frame is one of those floor ones so not sure the cushion idea would work! I need to get some wood glue tomorrow as one of the legs fell apart tonight, too much work I guess£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0 -
Ahh right - I thought you had a lap frame
I used to have a floor one and it used to just gather dust lol
I started my HAED in August last year, it's the biggest project I have ever tackled and I have hardly been able to put it downCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. LOL shelley, I had to actually pick my stitching up and check how my fingers used the needle (Not something I had thought about over the past 15 years):o:rotfl:
I now know I don't actually use my fingertip to push the needle. I hold the eye with my left hand to push it through, then take hold of the needle with my right hand to finish pulling it through...does that make sense lol
Everyone's technique is different, if you are getting pain then a thimble seems like the best idea, they aren't expensive, and I would go with the rubber one as well.
Made me :rotfl: too that you had to go pick up your stitching! Have just bought the rubber thimbles from ebay, pack of 10, 2 of each size for £2.38 delivered, bargain!:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Great price - let us know how you get on with themCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Not sure if anyone is interested but The Magazin Group has Cross Stitch Crazy and World of Cross Stitch on 5 issues for £5. I've signed up for both as at £1 an issue with free kits etc I think they're worth the money. Don't forget Quidco too.
II had told myself that I was not going to buy any more cross sticth stuff this year as I have loads already but I love getting a magazine through the door!0 -

I've just signed up too. Also, I had an offer through the post for another offer. 3 issues for £1 for Cross Stitcher, Simply Knitting, Papercraft Inspirations, The Knitter or Cross Stitch Collection. I did it for Cross Stitch Collection and you can chose what issue you start with. So I've tried 2 different direct debits-one for the next available issue, and another for the 4th issue, so I can have 6 issues...I hope!

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Hi everyone, no stitching for me today as I dont feel up to anything other than sleeping but I have won "a pair of tickets for the Creative Stitches and HobbyCrafts Show in Liverpool for use on one day between the 23rd - 25th April" and as I barely leave the house I cant go. Everyone here has been so good in helping me out so thought I would see if anyone wants them from here to pay back a little of the kindness people have shown me on here. If your interested pm me and I will pick who gets them, first refusal goes to people who have helped me.
btw Sweet carer your alphabet looks stunning.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member No 2 :j
