evening all
erics mum thought i would let you know my mum has just come back from kenya and she was telling me that on the way out there they took her neddles which were in her hand luggage
mrsm you are a star thank you so much i really apprechiate it
i always use a frame or hoop when i sew i never used to but i tried it and now cant sew without one and i always start in the middle
re depression i sewed when i was younger mum has always done and she taught me when i was little then i stopped, then 2 years ago my son was still born at 40 weeks and i needed something to keep me busy and sitting without me bursting into tears every 2 mins as it was no good for my other 2 children to see mummy keep crying, so i went to hobby craft and brought a flower faries kit and it helped so much kept my mind occupied and my hands busy, it now keeps me sain and when im having a bad day i pick it up and my mind doesnt start wandering to what ifs and how comes, it really was a lifeline and helped to keep me in one piece when all i wanted was to fall apart13 in 2013 challenge 9/130 -

Oh how i like the HAE designs but i dont think i'd have space to hang anything bigger than A4.
Bubbles is that Newcastle location, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne? If so a tip for cheap threads is in the Grainger Market in the city centre, they have non branded makes that are ok for 25p a skien and some basic colours (about 10 shades) at 15p a skien (tho i wasnt a fan of thoes othere than the black for outlining). Im in Gateshead by the way.
One good thing is i can still get to town its still a place i feel "safe" and can get out of if i need to i also can get to hobby craft and dainties (a local craft supplier) in the car so i'm able to keep my stash going, and feel good that i got out the house.
And bubbles as previous users have said were quite happy to share our suplies with you if you cant afford new kits. And im quite happy to scan in charts or books for you.0 -

sorry for long woffle lol
I would probably re-start on 18 count because like you said, it would be such a shame for it to end up as a UFO.
Here's a fabric size converter if you need one for evenweave http://www.cross-stitch-centre.co.uk/acatalog/evenweaves.html:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

25 count? I thought evenweave only came in even numbers
I'm just trying to figure out the size of it....
14ct aida = 28ct evenweave
18ct aida = 32ct evenweave
so 25ct is the equivalent of 12.5, but taking into account over one thread would be 24ct aida.....flipping heck that's tiny!!
If it's over one thread no wonder you are having trouble with it. How much have you got done exactly? (I know you said 1 page, but is that large or small font?)
If you think you are more likely to get it done on 18ct, then I would start again on that. It is a complicated design and you would be best making things as easy as possible for yourself.
Oh, and on the 18ct it will look bigger and even more impressiveCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. hi thank you for advice, yes would be more likely to get done if x's were a little biger lol size wise 1 page is in small font A4 size , everything is small
give you an idea how small each 'x' is Louise , on the tip of the arrow is a 'x' :rotfl::rotfl:
right just checking size of 18 count needed , 400 x 514 stitches, so with 3 inch boarder im after a piece 29'' by 35'' thank you for all your help and advice0 -
Anyway I have finally finished DS' sampler! I was posting in September how I wanted it finished by October, well I finally finished it just over a week ago!! I just need to iron it and sew on the beads.Ooh sammr85, my DH is called Callum....a bit late to make a birth sampler for him though..he hit the BIG 50 last year!! :rotfl:

witchwoopiggy- I got myself an energy-saving daylight bulb and it has made my sewing MUCH easier! It was a bit pricey, but gives off a lovely light and it means that I can stitch without too much trouble in the evenings....when I get my mojo back that is!
I am doing my H&E project using 28 count and stitching over 2 threads. This was the advice from Mrs M and Louise...and boy am I glad I listened to them. I can't imagine sewing over 1 thread with 25 count!! I am amazed you have sewn this much, I would have given up much earlier.
I am with Louise, it is better to restart now using different material and get it finished, rather than throwing it into a corner, necver to be finished. You can always use the 25 count, for other smaller projects, but sew over two threads next time!
Right off to catch up on Numb3rs and get some knitting done...I will get some sewing done some-time...honest!

I know it will be a pain, and it will have taken hours to do that amount, but at that stage I would definitely start again.
