Maria - I love the Ruby one. :)

Does anyone order their HAED designs direct from the HAED website? I did this with mine, and it works out the same price (or cheaper, depending on exchange rate), plus you don't have to pay postage; you can just download and print the chart directly - which means no waiting for it to be delivered! ;)

Oooh I am all sixes and sevens today.....sorry this is off-topic, but I had to tell you all...I am so excited! :j

My DS2 has been picked for the Scotland under-17s rugby team!!!! :j
    :j

He got the letter (and loads of bumf) today..glad he had a half-day, I don't think I could have held out to five this evening!!

I tried to get some sewing done...but I couldn't concentrate and kept making mistakes...so have been planting garlic cloves instead!!

At least now we know what we will be doing the four weekends after this one. T he first three he will be up in Scotland training and playing, and at Easter he is taking part in a
    week-long tournament!

Sorry to go on, but I am sooooo proud of my baby (all 6'2" and 17.5 stone of him...yes, he is a prop!)..

It's another lovely day so I will go and get more things done in the greenhouse/garden before walking the dog...

Have a great day everyone...I know I will!

Thanks for the nice comments for my beaver (hm why do little scouts have to be called beavers, it allways makes taking about them sound rude :rotfl:)

Here's the back of the one i had to finish, nice and messy

Keiss 21- Congratulations, for your son. My cousins, really in to his rugby right now (he's 13) and has just started playing for his county along side his school team, and not log ago got to play in a match to fill half time at Twickenham. Main thing that worries us tho is how brutal the game can be, he'd forever dislocating his thumb.

Last night I started a nice small cross stitch for my nana IMG_0310.jpg?t=1267632917

I got 3 in the series (the last on the stall) when they were reduced to £2.99 as they're discontinied, and she loves elephants so i gave her one for xmas, one is for mothers day and one for her birthday.

(p.s if anyone else knows where i can get Elliot patterns i'd be happy for the help as their is loads of thread left from the first one, which im using on the second, so i think all the threads on the second one will be left over)

Sweetcarer- The threads i used on the beaver had dmc numbers but both were 2 diferent makes, the 15p ones had no sheen at all, were very mat/ rough and i'm not sure if i would use them again or just pay extra out of my own pocket for the niceness of using smooth, less knoting threads. The 25p ones had a large range of colours, and did have the sheen and smoothness to them that anchor and dmc have, they all were clearly marked with the numbers dmc use, tho i couldnt say how close a match they were as i didnt have any dmc of thoes colors to copare it with. But when the stitching needs to be done in a hurry and the only other option is 70p for genuine skeins the 25p ones were worth it. The other day my mam needed a tiny bit of purple so she bough the 25p ones and it matches her original colour tho im unsure what make her originals were as she was using odments up. Ive just realised i havent mentioned the name of the 25p one, it was VA, oh and the 15p stuff was Color Bird.
