You can switch tariff online twice every 3 months if you wish (website maintenance permitting, that is
). Or as many times as you like if you contact us.
Malc
Malc, you must have the worst computer experts as your so-called "website maintenance" is taking ages! When will the online tariff switching facility for existing customers be back please? I don't like call centres and would rather switch my tariff online. The whole point of having online account management is so you don't have to phone up!0 -
Hi Minerva
Really sorry the Switch Now option is still unavailable on our website.
The planned maintenance I referred to in a previous post showed up a more deep seated problem with this particular function.
Our technicians are currently grappling with this fault but it is proving difficult to fix. I'm afraid I don't have a time frame for a resolution yet but I will post again as soon as I know something more concrete.
In the meantime, please feel free to use the email address in my Profile if you would like to switch tariffs. I will be happy to do this for you.

Kind offer Malc, but the real advantage of the online switch is that you can readily see all the various tariffs available and compare unit prices. You can't do this easily with a phone call. It is also easy to see if a new tariff has been launched. I have just discovered fixonline8 is available but there is no way of finding out what the new unit rates and discounts are. You click on quote but as soon as you enter your address, it states you are already a customer and asks me to ring up. I don't want to do this - just inform me of the new rates! It seems the only way to find out is to go onto one of the comparison websites. Or am I missing something? Can I be informed by email perhaps?
PS not having a go at you; I think you give excellent help on this forum0 -

I was in the same position Geoffo! It took me a while to find it, but I did find this on E.on's website, you can put your postcode in and it will tell you which tariffs are available in your area: http://www.eonenergy.com/At-Home/Products/Products-Electricity-And-Gas/Prices+And+Discounts.htm0 -

Absolutely agree Geoffo. This is far from satisfactory and something we are continually pressing the technical bods to sort out. In fact, I spoke to a senior manager about it this very morning.
As a temporary measure, click on Products & Services and then Prices & Discounts. Pop your Post Code in and this will list all the tariffs available for your region. Not sure if this contains all the info you need but it might help.
Hope this is useful Geoffo. Give me a shout if you need any more info as will be happy to help. Many thanks also for your kind comments; they are much appreciated.

Good news guys.
Our online tariff switching tool has now been fixed and is back on the website in the usual place.
There may be the odd minor glitch until it is fully bedded in but these are being worked on.
Sorry for the delay but hope you can now see the info you are interested in.
Give me a shout if you have any questions.
