    Hi Sunil

Tariff changes are immediate, both through our website or when you call.

Therefore, I'm afraid there is no actual cooling off period where customers can change their minds. Cooling off periods only apply when changing supplier.

You will be still be able to switch, either to another E.ON tariff or supplier, but a penalty may be applied depending on the T & C's of the original product.

Hope this answers your question Sunil. Give me a shout if I can help further as will be happy to do so. :)

I just switched online with Eon and am an existing customer. This is an extract from their confirmation email:
" Thanks for changing your electricity product to FixOnline 6 Electricity from Price Protection Electricity 2010. You'll see this change on your next bill.
We'll send you a letter in the post confirming your new prices and Terms and Conditions in the next few days.
Please let us know within the next 14 days if you change your mind by calling us on 0845 059 9905*, or completing a switch back on the website if this is the first time you've changed your product. You’ll only be able to switch back to your previous product online if we’re currently selling it, if it’s an old version of a product it may not be available anymore and you’ll need to call us if you want to switch back."

It's a cooling off period in kind.
    regards

I had thought Eon would continue the direct debit application as I had indicated a preference and an amount. When the final paper work came 20 days after moving supplier I noticed my discount restricted to 14 day payment on invoice. I called Eon and set up the direct debit.
My warning is that the onus to set up the direct debit is on the customer as Eon did not follow it through from the application.
I have a tiny loss of discount for 20 days but some one out there may get a quarterly bill that they may struggle with.

    Hi aylesby

Why did we reject your proposed Direct Debit?

If we failed to set up your account correctly despite being provided with all the relevant details in the right format, then you do not need to lose any discount.

Let us know if we have fallen down and not put you on the tariff you requested even though you ticked all the right boxes. We will back date the tariff to your start date. This will make sure you receive all the discount you signed up for.

You can let me know via the email address on the left if you prefer. Will be happy to have a look at this for you. :)

    FAO Malc,

We signed up to this deal about 2 months ago and are now unexpectedly moving house.

Can you tell me if I can take my energy supplier and this fixed deal with me? Or am I forced to inherit Scottish Power as the supplier on the new house (or until I switch)? The house is on the same road - not sure if this matters.

    Thanks

    Hi steve

You will have to use the existing supplier at the new property when you first move in.

However, if you would like us to carry on supplying your energy at the new house, you need to call us and start a switch as soon as you take over responsibility.

If you tell us you already have an account, then you will be able to take your current product with you.

Hope this answers the question, steve. Give me a shout if I can help further and good luck with the move. :)

    Cheers.

Do I need to contact E.ON before I move to tell them I'm moving and give my closing meter readings? If so, when?

    Hi steve

Best thing is to give us a call on the day you leave. Tell us the meter reading and we will raise a final bill to this.

You will be able to see this online within a few days.

I do understand the work and stress involved moving house. Therefore, if you are up to your eyes on the actual day, you can always call us later so long as you have the reading for the day your responsibility for the old property ends.

    Malc :)

Blimey this is confusing. Im on Fixonline 6. Just done a calculator thing where they tell you whether it's better to change and it tells me I will be better off on Fixonline 7.
Trouble is I cant see where the tariffs are so cant see what the savings would be. Also I dont know if EON would charge to change from 6 to 7.

    Can anyone advise.
