Do's anyony know what the standing charge is on this as I am unable to find any info? Or is it the same as Extra saver 13?

Works out 22% discount for me.

    Many Thanks

There is no daily standing charge - the standing charges are levied through tier 1 units being more expensive.

For Pincher's prices above, the effective standing charge would be:

(Tier 1 price - Tier 2 price) x number of units charged at tier 1

    So:
    electricity: (22.1865p - 10.71p) x 900 = 11.4765p x 900 = £103 pa or £8.60 per month (28p per day)
    and:
    gas: (6.5427p - 3.40725p) x 2680 = £84 pa or £7 per month (23p per day)

Plus there is the 20% odd discount still to be taken off as well.

chambta - is that total discount (ie including the direct debit (6%)& dual fuel (2%)discounts) or is that just the online discount ??
If its the online discount only then perhaps Malc, the EON REP would like to comment on the huge differences in regional discounts (I only get 12.4% online discount in S.Wales)

Really good point brewerdave; I guess, like all retail businesses, prices and discounts are based on costs and market conditions at the time they are released.

I do know, product options and pricing structures are reviewed on a regular basis as we aim to remain competitive within an ever changing market.

I will happily feedback the points raised here to the people who make these decisions. :)

If you change from one Eon tariff to another, do you get 7/14(?) days to change your mind without penalty?

i.e. if someone changed to Fixonline 5 and then Fixonline 6 came out 2 days later - could they change to the newer tariff ?

    Regards
    Sunil

    Hi Sunil

Tariff changes are immediate, both through our website or when you call.

Therefore, I'm afraid there is no actual cooling off period where customers can change their minds. Cooling off periods only apply when changing supplier.

You will be still be able to switch, either to another E.ON tariff or supplier, but a penalty may be applied depending on the T & C's of the original product.

Hope this answers your question Sunil. Give me a shout if I can help further as will be happy to do so. :)

I've just taken the plunge and requested a switch to this plan, from my current dual fuel deal with Southern Electric (Eneryplus Argos plan).

I was persuaded by Moneysupermarket.com assuring me I would save £360 per year with E.on. Fingers crossed it pans out that way!

    Me too Seamonster.

Just trying to find out if SE have any penalty charges when leaving them - are you aware of any? Been with them for ages so no time restrictions apply.

    Hi
i have just signed up for the newest version of Fix Online.
It offers me a discount of 22.2% for duel fuel which I was happy with. I have done my estimates and I reckon I will pay no more than the 4 year capped deal I was on, which ends on 28 February.

    What do others recommend?

Phoned Southern Electric last night (at their request) to confirm my switch to E.ON. No mention of any penalty charges. Predictably, they tried to persuade me to stay. I was extremely vexed to be informed that their Go Direct plan is considerably cheaper than the one I was on – if I’d known that, it seems I could have switched to that plan some time ago and been saving around £250 per year.

My fault for not doing my research earlier, I suppose, but it’s still very annoying that they allow customers to stay on tariffs that are clearly not the best value for them, without pro-actively informing them of the options available. That’s how they make their money, I guess.

My Fix Online5 camd through without the expected direct debit. There is more discount with a DD than the 3% they offer for 14 day payment of a 3 month bill.

    Hi aylesby

Sorry if I'm being a bit dense but not sure what you mean. Mind you, it is Friday afternoon!

Are you saying you have received confirmation that you are on Fixonline 5 but have not yet set up a Direct Debit? Or is the Direct Debit not what you expected?

To receive the full discount for Fixonline 5 you need to pay with a Monthly Direct Debit as well as manage your account online. If either of these conditions aren't in place, then, you may not receive the full discount on future bills.

Again, sorry if I have the wrong end of the stick, aylesby. Just ignore me if I have. :o

I had thought Eon would continue the direct debit application as I had indicated a preference and an amount. When the final paper work came 20 days after moving supplier I noticed my discount restricted to 14 day payment on invoice. I called Eon and set up the direct debit.
My warning is that the onus to set up the direct debit is on the customer as Eon did not follow it through from the application.
I have a tiny loss of discount for 20 days but some one out there may get a quarterly bill that they may struggle with.
