With regards to all of these posts that point out that the SEL price is different to the scan price how do all these people find out these mistakes, surely they don't take all of these items individually to a scan point or is there another way??

Yes, I always take my items to the self scan posts if working. Thats exactly what they are there for.

I sometimes get a young member of staff to scan the item at an empty till but apparently this has now been stopped. I have on occasion, asked the people walking around the store with one of the hand scanners to check for me and occasionally asked the CS desk for the price as well.

You could go to pay for it at a self pay scanner and see if the price comes up properly, if not cancel it and put it to one side.

also have a look out for tescos organic stilton cheese.... that was mis-priced as well i wont post on the mis-price thread...as i cant remeber the prices...as i dont like smelly mouldy cheese....

I always get more than one of each and keep them until I have enough for an exchange at GAME shop. Occasionally I have sold them on eBay as well.

ok so electrical products special offers(yellow SELs) ended yesterday. The next batch I can see due to end is health and beauty products. I've noticed some hair die and savers etc... these finish on the 15th.

SatNav was die to finish with electrical product but the offers on them have been extended to October. My goal is to bag a SATNAV unit :D

So I shall ask again has anyone ever been asked, is this the correct price for the item purchased at a self scan till, I use quite a few differant stores and self serve tills and this is the 1st time I have been asked.
This can be set up at store level or at head office level on ANY product at any time and is called price verification, I have seen it many times on both self scan and normal tills(suprise suprise!)

I was in Tesco's Reading to chase up an R&R and was shown a tiny sign which stated a full refund would only be given on a maximum of 3 items. The difference would only be given on the remainder.

Only problem with this rule is does it apply to 3 overcharges in your whole receipt or 3 overcharges per item (ie. if you bought 3 cartons of milk and you were overcharged)?

I don't know if any other stores set limits for their R&R's but this is one to watch out for in the future!
I have noticed a "bulk purchase" notice in our local store which limits you to 6 items and is displayed behind the CS desk. I believe it is Tescos way of stopping you buying all of the steak/washing powder/anything else that you find mispriced

However there is an argument that if, for example, they sell you 20 packs of wrongly priced steak then they have very little argument about refunding you regardless of any notice. When I was shopping yesterday the lady behind me had more than six bottles of pepsi, all seperate small ones, and while I was checking my receipt she was served with no mention of the bulk purchase policy

If this was official Tesco policy then I believe that these notices should be displayed at the tills and the assistants be instructed not to let anyone buy more than six of one item

My policy has always been little and often except when you are in a store where you probably will not go again hence £37.00 of free meat yesterday. When in my local stores I limit my R&Ring to a small amount and never have any trouble

The notice at Reading is obviously the store managers way of preventing too much money being handed back and it goes against Tesco HQs policy of refunding all overcharges. Remember Tesco introduced this promise to stop a full inquiry into their pricing policy and would be on shaky ground if they start messing around with it now. Reading store would be wise to remember that if they are happy to take your money then they should also be happy to return it if they are in error
Only time will tell if I am right or they are wrong

Think a bulk buying policy of 6 is bad?
