How do you know what is going to scan wrong at the till? I was i Tesco today and it all looks priced ok. Do you carry price scanners around or something?0

I was in my local co-op store this morning, and bought some burgers which had been reduced for quick sale (dated sell by 28 Jun ie tomorrow), and were stickered BOGOF. When I got home I realised that they had not honoured the BOGOF, and I was charged the individual reduced price for each pack. Trip back this afternoon, the manager first tried to tell me the BOGOF offer had expired - to which I replied that the BOGOF stickers were on the packs. He then told me that they did not have to honour the BOGOF on reduced items. I stood my ground and mentioned trading standards and eventually did get the refund, but I still can't believe that legally they don't have to honour BOGOF if items are reduced - can anyone shed any light on this? I know that in the same circumstances Tesco do honour the BOGOF on reduced items, albeit at the reduced price!
The only way they could get out of the bogof deal is to remove the pos and any stickers attached to the product, if they sell a bogof product they must honour the offer to avoid falling foul of the law immeterial of the price/reduction.

In my local store today something very strange happened whilst I was waiting for a RnR check. I had purchased some pork mince SEL 98p, charged £1.18 and free range chicken thighs, skin on, special offer SEL charged well over the asking price. Meat manager went off to check the prices and disappeared for 15 minutes even though the meat counter is directly by the CS desk??? Calls were put out for him because I was little bit peeved and suspicious of his 'check'. Anyway another CS person was sent off to check the prices and came back saying mince was wrong and the thighs appeared with a yellow reduction sticker on them, only they were not the pack I had purchased. Mine were a full £1 more than this pack:eek: CS tried to give me a refund and pretended to be ignorant of the RnR policy? So I told her I wanted my thighs back, the pack I had purchased and pointed out the RnR policy to her. So it seems the meat manager had been busy putting stickers on all of his chicken thighs which explained his non appearance. There were most definately not any stickers on the thighs when I took them off the shelf. I feel something very strange happened today in Tesco. Has this happened to anyone else?DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0

Look through the threads, this type of incident isn't unusual.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

What is the reaction of the CS when you continually R&R?? Seen a post where someone got banned? Is this normal?
And do you always have to go through self scan??
Cant wait to visit tescos on my lunch tom:j

Last Monday, I went to Tesco Store and got my first R&R
On Sunday I went to another store I checked what I picked up carefully, and when I went to CS I was told that all but one of the items had been charged the correct price and that I had picked up the items from teh wrong location and thus they were not on offer etc.
So I got R&R on the plaice.
I was at CS for 50 minutes! yep 50 Minutes!
Interesting that they found the correct prices eh?
I am writing to Mr T in disgust, I'm not going to put the content of my letter here for obvious reasons. But I will let you know the outcome

I am fairly new to all this but, thanks to tips on here, I have got quite a few R&R's - nearly all on meat where the kg price on the pack has been higher than the sel. I'm clear about those as the pack scans at the pack price which is obviously higher than it should be if it was worked out on the SEL kg price.
What I don't quite understand are things like DVD's etc where people on here have said the SEL price is higher than the sticker price on the item. I haven't ried any of those as I assumed that the item would scan at the price on the sticker. Are you saying that the Tesco computer will be progammed to tie the bar code into the price on the SEL, not the price on the sticker ?ELITE 5:2

The meat is an easy spot - if a pack is priced per kg and the SEL has a lower price per kg, then you know that the pack will scan at the calculated individual price on the pack. (E.g. steak on SEL £9.49 per kg, on pack £10.99 per kg).
If you find a book/dvd/game whatever with a price sticker on and the SEL displays a different price, then you can scan the item around the store (if your store has the facility) or ask a free checkout assistant to do a price check for you. If it scans at the higher price then you have an r&r opportunity.
Other mis-prices are accidentally discovered during the course of a shopping trip - and then shared amongst our mse friends.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0
