Hi,
can someone tell me if this R&R policy of Tescos is just for selected stores or should it be the case at all? Also is a recent rule?
I only ask because last year i bought some rather expensive vitamins on BOGOF but the BOGOF offer didn't work. When i went to CS i was just refunded for the 1 tub of vits meaning that in the end i got them for BOGOF as i should of done. Should they of refunded me the whole amount and let me keep the vits?
What is the maximum number of R&R items anyone has got away with doing?
It's quite annoying to think that Tescos are ripping people off on a daily basis. I hate to think how many times i have been overcharges on items i have bought that are priced per kg.0 -

if you'd have bought two party babies and only refunded 98p, then you're on to an R+R
think things through next time!, but, at least you're asking us lot 'ere rather than hassling custard support with false accusations of mispricing ;-)
better luck next time!
the system is set up to give discount for the cheapest item so if you only bought the £1.08 product the you would get £1.08 discount.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

I said I wanted the most newest stock on the shelf for which I was entitled to and the fact there was not a price displayed for the stock at £8.12, but she was having none of it and said to go and pick another stickered pack. I said "no thanks give me a refund and I'll go to Iceland where I know how much I am paying for my items" (in a very pointed way so she got the message) and she had to RnR me on some mince and bananas. Was she right about not doing the RnR for the breasts?
No - if the breasts weighed 1kg then you should pay £6.49, as per the SEL, not £8. The pack tells you how much they weigh.
Other tescos re-price each packet with the correct price, which is what your tesco should do.0 -
Sorry to get into a discussion.
Sarabob - The pack I picked up had the price PER kilo as £8.12 not as it stated on the SEL as £6.49kg, but, it had no special offer sticker on but was with stock that was exactly the same aprt from price per kilo, I was just wondering if I should have been given RnR or accepted the CS's reasoning?DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0 -

If I understand you correctly - there was a price per kg on the SEL and the packs you purchased were blank - no price per kg.
If this is so, Dude, no R&R.
You've agreed to pay the price on the SEL.....

Argh! Tesco make me so annoyed....
Went in today to local 24hr tesco and noticed that all over the shop
SELs appeared to be missing and for many items it was really unclear what the pricing was.
The loose banana stand had no prices displayed whatsoever... that is useless for me as i'm on a budget and need to be able to compare prices to decide what to get.... does anyone know if it is an offence no to price goods??? Am thinking of calling trading standards into this store anyway see below....
Got some beef & lamb mince which was clear R&R as shelf label was noticeably lower than pack price. All fine.... customer services lady was lovely.
Then whilst handing over receipt, I noticed that the oranges I had bought which should have been on 2for£2 had been charged at full price with no discount. I pointed this out and the CS lady was sympathetic and said, oh dear, I think maybe you had to buy the same kind of oranges (I had mixed a JAFFA oranges pack with a JAFFA satsuma pack). I told her that i'm sure it wasn't like that because I had checked the sign and made sure I had got the right kind of oranges. The POS sign stated 2 for £2 then went on to list various types of oranges including 'JAFFA' oranges and Satsuma 800g . The Jaffa orange boxes also had a £2 for £2 sign on them but the satsuma boxes had no pricing on them, i checked that they were definately 800g though.
The CS lady agreed that you were able to mix types different packs and then went off to find the produce 'manager' to check with him. Up turns some 14 yr old boy who after studying the display decides that the kind of satsumas i have picked up are not the right kind and that the right kind are 800g ones which are in a punet and not just a net bag. I say ok, so where are these ones. "Oh we don't have any of those ones". the CS ladys asks him when they will get any in... "we don't know until it arrives"
CS lady then says ok, well we can refund you then and we return to counter. She issues refund and I take the oranges back. she then tells me that because it wasn't an over price just the 'offer was wrong' that I haven't been overcharged and so I can't keep the oranges. I said I'm sorry I don't understand that, can you explain how I was supposed to know about these 'other oranges'. so we go back to the orange display where 'the boy' aka produce manager has now put a white sign on the satsumas which say £1.79 and do not mention the offer.
I point out that that sign was not there when I bought the oranges and even if it was then I would still think the satsumas were part of the offer because they are listed on the offer sign. The lady said she could agree with me, but still couldn't get R&R because this was not their policy. I would point out that she was really lovely about it all, and perhaps this was my downfall as I didn't want to get manager involved as Cs lady had been so accomodating. I then asked whether they would change the signs to stop other people thinking the same as mistake as me, I suggested they should cross out the satsuma 800g part until they did get some of these mystical other satsuma 800gs . she said the signage came down from head office and they couldn't do anythign about it.
At this point I just gave up the will to live, had been going on for about 40 mins and walked away (noticed produce manager/boy smirking so am wondering if these other satsumas do exist) Will phone head office today. I don't really care about the R&R but I just think it is shocking that they refuse to change their signs when they are clearly misleading.
To me this should have been an obvious R&R I sign says 2 for £2 for certain products, you pick up products matching those description and then they refuse to honour their offer. I just think this is deploable. they have refused to remove the signage so I'm also thinking of getting in TS.
sorry for length of post, this is very longwinded i hope it makes sense. This happened last night and I'm still raging that they refused to change the signs, or even sell me what was advertised, let alone give me an R&R!!!0 -

No I don't thiok so but sometimes I think they try their hardest to blag it through so don't have to give a r & r. They should't have a mixed shelf with different labeled products and one sel with the lower price on.
I was lucky last night went to a different store to do weekly shop and got £19 worth of sirloin steak and H/E lamb cs lady was lovely. again sels were removed. Freezer full now need to eat up before I can go on the look out again.Lightbulb moment 10-06-06
