Hey_Dude wrote:Dudes,
Meat can sometimes be a tricky one - sometimes CS Staff genuinely can't see the R&R - I once had to talk a fairly bright CS chap through how the SEL and meat sticker were wrong in a step-by-step process - with an emphasis on the price per kg.
But some CS Staff know exactly what the score is and will squirm around and try and not honour the Price Promise.
Personally I tend to only go for meat when there is a big wrongly priced SEL - white or yellow - that is promoting the offer and price per kg - the recent Minute Steak is a good example.
I then advise CS Staff of the mis-price and during my walk to the offending aisle explain how it was the "excellent price on the big shelf sign" that had caught my eye.
I find that this approach causes less problems - but that said I have never had a R&R on meat refused - including the ones with normal SELs - but I have had to really take a firm stand from time-to-time.

Duder,
Do you still do the R&R?. I ask because I remember reading a few posts back that you had problems with them recognising you or something similar?.
Whats the situation now?0 -

I also noticed a worrying thing - there were lots of prepacked stuff with NO prices marked on them. Just the SEL to tell you how much the product should be. Seemed to be most of the bacon was like this?? What gives?
I think they are legally obliged to tell you how much you are being charged for the product per lb/kg or whatever. This is something you could take up with the manager, or Head Office anonymously I guess if you wanted.0 -

Hey Dude!
Yes I'm still out there - work and play gets in the way but when I can I go for a trot to Mr Ts.
Well - my local store where I had the PSP dispute - I've kept clear of R&Rs - my profile is too high.
2 other bigger localish stores - had some success there today.
Store number 2 - where I was sort of banned 12 months ago - a R&R today with an apology and a smile.
Store number 3 - where I rarely shop (no price checker) - my ugly mug was remembered by a tall CS lady - she remembered me from a pork dispute - who whispered furiously to her colleague and started making phone calls.
Still - had the R&R without hassle and made a sharp exit.
How you doing?

Clasics, if i remember correctly, all the bacon is actually a single weight, ie 250g, 454g etc and not variable weight. Therefore the price on the SEL is what you should be charged at the checkout.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

Spa2k Dude - didn't know you were a member of the Gerard Penalty Taking Appreciation Society.......
Nah - I've changed my disguise recently - I now shop wearing a syrup, 3-piece suit and a name badge 'Sir Terry'.
Open all conversations with CS staff -"Hello and what do you do then?"

Went to Tesco's for the first time in months today.
All the steak and lemon sole was correctly priced, but I did get two pavlovas, marked on the SEL at 2 for £3 but charged at full price. CS paid up quite happily, once they'd been to check the SEL.
Only problem is when I opened one up to defrost it for tea tonight, the meringue had totally disintegrated. Do you think it'd be too cheeky to write to CS for a refund?Debt free since December 2015. It can be done0
