    Oh dear.

Had a do in Tescos on Saturday.

Basically I had 4 lots of meat that were wrong. 2 pork chops and 2 Chicken in a Bag Roasts.

When I got to CS, the CS lady went to far side of the counter and made a phone call.
Down came the manager in a "ello ello ello" voice "Whats the problem here then?".
She disappeared with the meat and came back and instructed the CS guy to give me a full R&R.

She then said "Can I have a word over here sir".

She went on for about 5 minutes as she explained that she was having some problem with the meat department and wrong SELs. She said that she will work it out with them and she is trying to get it right. She then said something like "We can't have people coming in here week after week and hitting us for meat refunds, its costing too much, we would hate to have to ban someone". I said "ban who? The people who wrongly label the meat and overcharge customers?". I think she was basically giving me a warning. I went on to say "I hope you arn't suggesting I am doing anything wrong as your tone would suggest?"

Anyway we went round in circles for a bit, she was being non-committal and I was denfinding my position.

I took my meat and left.

I am out of the R&R game. I might do it at another Tesco in the next town when I work there, but I don't need to grief in my local store.

Besides I will go back to Asda anyway. I only did Tesco cos of the R&R money backmaking it cheaper, otherwise its (IMO) more expensive than Asda.

    Cheers all.

you're both playing a game here, and as 'you're out of the game' in that store, tescos have won that game

dude, take it on the chin, relish the renewed challenge of R+R'ing at that store, wear a disguise, make it fun. i've got one R+R at a store i've been 'banned' from R+R'ing at!!!

and, as for getting grief, tesco's have every right to give as good as they get!
    money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

Just did my shopping at Tesco Cardiff Road, Newport, there are 2 possible misprices on the electricals (upstairs now) the Apple I-pod Hi-fi has 2 prices up 228 - 249 and opposite it the LG home cinema system can't remember exact prices about 129 has 2 prices up. Scanner wasn't working and I didn't really feel brave enough because I know some of the staff are recognising me from previous R&R. So if anyone is around that way might be worth a look, let us know how you get on.

Just back from Tesco Knocknagoney having tried in vain to get a R&R on pork chops (SEL 5.99) charged 7.99 per kilo. Similarly Sirloin Steak (SEL 11.87 per kilo) charged 12.87 per kilo. Stood my ground for 20 mins with Customer Services and then a manager who turned down the due R&R - Reason given - you paid the correct price on the label - If the meat wasnt displaying a price then you could have got R&R... Grrr..Is there any way I can claim through Tesco's HO re this...not even given discount?

Do the maths on the label, 12.87/kg multiplied by weight in kilos. Then do it at the lower price of 11.87/kilo. You'll have been overcharged.

I've had 8 sirloins this weekend, my Mum has had four, all R&R'd. I had to point out that the price was charged per kilo to CS to get the R&R.

This is a clear overprice! The way to explain it to customers services bod is that, if the packs you had in your possession had been charged at the SEL price per kg, the price you had been charged would have been lower! Another way; if ALL the packs had been 1kg in weight, they should have had £5.99 on the pack to tally with the SEL. The fact that they had been charged at £7.99/kg as opposed to the SEL price of £5.99 means Tesco are OVERCHARGING at the rate of £2 per kg.

And, if they STILL hadn't relented, I would have asked for a FULL refund on the lot and let them cart them back to the shelf...then contacted HO.

The LG home cinema is right opposite but the scanner up stairs wouldn't scan it, did you by any chance have meat R&R from there as they seemed to proactively sticking yellow lower prices on their steak.:D

A question: if a product scans at a certain price at one store, will it scan at that price at every store in the UK, or do each store program their own prices? TIA!

It will scan at the same price at most stores, the differences being in express or metro stores.

There is also a limited amount of regional pricing.

Stores have limited abilities to change prices.
