Also regional price variances are not usually responsible for misprices.

Just did my shopping at Tesco Cardiff Road, Newport, there are 2 possible misprices on the electricals (upstairs now) the Apple I-pod Hi-fi has 2 prices up 228 - 249 and opposite it the LG home cinema system can't remember exact prices about 129 has 2 prices up. Scanner wasn't working and I didn't really feel brave enough because I know some of the staff are recognising me from previous R&R. So if anyone is around that way might be worth a look, let us know how you get on.

Ipods scan at the lower price........all the steak was free that night tho!
    money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

I've just looked at this thread for the first time and have a question.

On 30 June I bought 2 packets of 375gm Special K as they were displayed as 2 for £2.50, saving about £1. I was charged full price for each box with no reduction. I noticed this on the way out and queried it with customer services. This resulted in me being refunded the price of one box. Should I have been refunded the price of both boxes?

Your refund should have been for two boxes I would go back and get my other refund but that's obvously up to you whether or not you do. The refund and replace policy is clearly displayed at ALL customer service counters and most tills point it out to them and suggest that you understand that a customer could be confused about the policy but fail to see why a member of staff should. A quick call to customer services should confirm for you.

Thanks for the barcode advice, the last time I tried to R&R they tried to get out of it by saying that the last few numbers of the barcode were different so it must be a different product to the SEL.

That advise only applies to items that are individually priced (meat, cheese etc) - for anything else the whole number should be identical, so checking the last 3 digits on, say, a can of beans is correct.

On pack-priced products, the SEL will show zero's as this part of the items barcode indicates its individual price.
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure

Yes, this is like the good old Maltesers 'buy 2 for £2' which was not working (still not if you can find a store who have left on display the old SEL). I got sick of them in the end but was always refunded on both packs in full.

    Today I got:

    H/L Turkey stir-fry SEL 2.49 (pack/scanned at £2.74) Loads on shelf.

H/L Chicken skinless fillets SEL £6.49 per kg (pack/scanned £8.12 per kg).

I do not like the attitude of some CS staff, in this case today the girl stomped over to the poultry aisle - I followed without asking her because she's so miserable I reckon she may pocket a SEL one of these days.

Then she clearly said (about the Turkey stir-fry) 'yes, the new packs have been put out too soon but I will let you have it for £2.49'. I said 'that's not what your policy says....' only to be interrupted with 'if you'll let me finish, I said you can have the refund' (she didn't say that at all, at first).

Then she goes back to a CS till which doesn't work for swiping cards (for the refund) and deliberately spent 10 mins trying to swipe it. There's another till right next to it, I said 'shall I move to this one?' and she said 'I can't move tills now as I have started the transaction'. I stayed calm :o .

Got full R&R but she knows me now as she coughed up for Maltesers the other week. If you have lovely CS staff locally, think yourself lucky! :D

Just point out to her next time "If you didn't overcharge me so often you wouldn't have to endure this ordeal perhaps you should vent your anger in the right direction UPWARDS!"
