had a row with CS in Wigan last week who said the R&R Policy had changed and gave me the excess charge back...didn't believe this for a minute but was in a rush.

phoned Head Office CS the next day who said "our Policy is clear, Sir, if you're charged a penny more then you can have a refund and keep the product. I'll phone the store and make sure they are aware. It was probably a try-on" - there you go. No change of policy. keep on R&Ring....!! Got the rest of my dosh back that day.

Have had a few R&R 's in my time. Just wondering if we take multiple items of a product that is incorrectly priced, or indeed clear the shelves of it, 'Where do we stand? Will Tesco honour their commitment?

Saw this a few pages back Ghost Hunter. Are you hoping for an R&R replacement laptop, too?

PS Why are you keeping a low profile on the R&R front?

Because I had some great freebies during the meat promotion as well as cds, games, microwave, tv, phone etc. From a couple of local stores, CS getting a bit stroppy now and also because I have been give (mum and her friends) some £10 off £30 shop because the store has been refitted, so I'm using these along with other vouchers and resisting the R&R addiction for awhile - but I'll be back, just lulling them into a false sense of security. Other stores near me where I'm not so known never seem to have any misprices.

Tesco have a maximum purchase policy of 6 items they sometimes throw that at you. This type of thing should be spotted at the till but they dont. It isnt a good Idea to clear the shelves either they could ban you for abusing their policy. If it was somthing like beans then everytime I go to sada or tesco people pile tins of them in their trolley then again they dont do it expecting to get them for free. Advice is if it is somthing you would normally buy 1 or 2 maybe 3 of then go for it but you wouldnt normally buy 6 coppies of the same cd or game would you?

    Hi,
Where are the self scanners normally found? I looked for the sirloin which seemed to be mispriced, but the packaging said Irish, and the SEL didn't. Would the scanner have thrown up more info? Bottled it in the end...Will be looking for the fish(y) misprices as our local store isn't huge and doesn't carry some of the stuff you've been detailing. Your posts are great information and SO entertaining. Cheers, HJ

If your store is small it is unlikely to have a self scanner - check any pillars as this is where they are normally located (easier to cable down rather than up).

Alternativley, compare the first 6 digits of the barcode to the the first 6 digits on the SEL (the long number under the price on the right). If they are the same product, they will match.

Thanks for the info. I'll have a go tonight.

Thanks for the barcode advice, the last time I tried to R&R they tried to get out of it by saying that the last few numbers of the barcode were different so it must be a different product to the SEL.
