PONDSAVER wrote::eek: I found the minute steak at prices at £8.49 on pack where the sel said £5.99 after a long wait at CS the lady brought me back 4 correct packets and said these are the correct packets you can take these the manage has recalled all the other wrongly priced ones from the shelf. so i could either take the correct ones and get a refund for the difference or get a full refund NO R&R is this right or do you think i will able to complain to head office?
My understanding is that it is an offence to sell or offer the same product for different prices - unless the lower of the prices are charged.
YES, the store is right to remove and re-price the remaining items (to prevent further offences), but you have already purchased yours - and have been overcharged.
Tesco policy is that in the "unlikely" event that you were charged more than the price on the product or shelf, then you get a full refund and keep the item(s).
Whether this was an error or not - the policy still stands.0 -
I got a full R&R on 4 packs of the minute steaks today. There were absolutely NO packs with the correct £5.99/kg price on them, there must have been at least a hundred packs out and ALL of them had £8.49/kg on them. I could have gone absolutely mad and got loads but exercied caution. At first the CS lady tried to fob me off by saying they were charging LESS than the per KG SEL price and proceeded to point to the per Lb price on the pack. LOL. When informed that this was the per lb price she soon handed over the dosh. Had a cracking day today, not only got that, also got the DIY book, the Free range Chicken, ANOTHER Genesis Collection CD and The Shadows Collection CD.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0

I have 4 stores within reasonable driving distance of where I live (although there isn't one Tesco near enough for me to walk to it!) and sort of use them all, my plan is to not get 'known' at any one store. Having said that, the 4 beef, Collins DIY and Genesis CD were all at one store today. :beer:I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -

I'm not . I've been 'scammed' before but just put it down to experience. Head office aint worth the cost of the phone call.0 -

Whenever I've complained to Head Office they are very friendly, agree that I'm in the right and then default to the individual store...
I can never be arsed with contacting Trading Standards....

I have just spoken to head office and they said it is downto the individual store and if it went through on one line ( i had 4 items) then i am due a refund but if it went through on more than one then I am not??? what a werid policy - she advised me to go and see the custonmer service manager at the store - which i won't do as i don't want to get myself known. o well better luck next time.Lightbulb moment 10-06-06
