If i am understanding correctly, you wanted to pay or part pay with vouchers for products that you did not have and then get cash back for the overcharges??
Turn it round, should the CSD offer you vouchers back instead of cash - regardless of wether you buy the products on the vouchers???
The Tesco store I usually use accept vouchers irrespective of whether you purchased the goods or not ... however I did buy 60 quid worth of stuff and only got refunded £8 for the steak. There's no woman sicker than the woman who is sick on her day off !0 -

??
This is quite common throughout Tesco surely you are aware of their policy towards accepting coupons
I do however think this would be quite a giggle to watch!

ok, here's a question and its purely hypothetical so please dont go searching because as far as I know the situation does not exist, however:
If a book was on the shelves of a supermarket with the publishers RRP on the cover (as most books have) and the supermarket was selling the book for say £2 more than the RRP, how many would try for an R&R on the book?
Ignore the fact the the retailer probably wouldn't sell many of the books, the question is would you try?Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
I don't exist, it is merely your imagination.

Nope. RRP says exactly that. RECOMENDED retail price. SEL's instore however are the price they want to sell at. That would be my comment to a customer any ways.0
-
My immediate answer was yes, however on reflection i would say no.The reason being i could quite easily see the CS arguing that the price on the book is only a reccomended price & we are not strictly bound to follow that.0
-
Yes. And here's the reason, the law specifically states where two prices are displayed the lowest price MUST be charged or an offence has been committed. R&R was installed to avoid prosecution for misleading pricing and should apply. If stores were to refuse on the basis rrp is only recomendation then subsequently be reported to ASA and a prosecution follow then there is no point in having the policy as it has failed its primary objective.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0

Last week I bought a Nokia 6111 mobile phone for my daughter's birthday on the spend £40 get £20 off promo. The SEL said £134.99 but when I checked receipt I had been charged £149.99, but I got the £20 off. I went to CS and they said went to check and said it had been a mistake and they would refund the difference so I would have paid £114.99 for the phone. I pointed out the R&R and SA said that she wasn't prepared to do that and would just give me my whole money back and that would be that. She was not pleasant at all and I felt intimidated, in fact so much so that I don't want to go back ever again. It was Tesco's in Formby. Should I have argued, although I don't think it would have done any good as I was being made to feel like I was on the fiddle and people were starting to look and I got really embarassed.Jane

recovering spendaholic....
I actually got two of the Nokia 6111 phones from Kingston Park Tesco. same thing....spend £40 and get £20 off the SEL of £134.99. I was charged £145.99 AFTER the discount which was patently wrong. I explained and before I got many words out of my mouth the CS apologised and gave me a FULL refund and keep the phone!!...Result!!
I went back that evening and did the same...lol spent over £40 ( after discounts etc! ) and same phone..same price error!!! The CS only offered me a refund of the price difference since it was " an honest mistake " and I refused.....and told them why i.e. I'd bought a phone earlier and got a full RnR and would like the same again please. She called the manager who came and was full of thunder.....my argument was he'd refunded once..and had to refund again....after chuntering awhile he agreed ..RESULT!! I did watch him go up and take all stickers off the Nokia 6111 phone display...lol!
At least my two teens are happy with their new phones.....and are selling their old ones on eBay this weekend........but NOT to Nigeria! LOL !
Mikeif i had known then what i know now0 -
My Tescos answer to R&R seems to be:-
1) Remove sticky price labels from item - eg Egypt book
2) Remove SEL from shelf - eg 300g Nescafe
3) 3 out of 3 Self scanners not working. Now what is the chance that this is all purely coincidental ???:p
So now no-one knows how much these items are. Is it THAT difficult for Tesco staff to find the CORRECT price label or CORRECT SEL ??
If I had the time and inclination I would waste staff time taking every item I could find, which wasn't clearly labelled, to get them to give me a price. But I would get my face too well known ( and hated) so I won't. I'll leave it to all the customers to badger them for prices, or for them to simply not buy the item in the first place if they cannot see a price displayed
