I don't understand what 'one line/more than one line' means. They've either overcharged you or they haven't and if they've overcharged on one packet then they've overcharged on the lot. Or am I missing something here - I'm relatively new to this caper.ELITE 5:2

Why not just report them to Trading Standards for the overpricing, the more people that do the less likely they are to get so cocky when robbing their customers!Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

I think what they mean by "more than one line" is more than one different product line so for example if they just rob you on one item your bacon for instance they will refund you, but if you are unfortunate to be overcharged for your bacon and your beef then they won't as they percieve you as a chancer looking for r&r, either way you have been misled into purchasing a product for a higher price than you intended, they have breached legislation in doing so and now they are saying that the provision put in place for such circumstances doesn't count because "we robbed you more than once"Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
I've no idea about the line one line or more thing either - I questioned it and she got stroppy with me and said she obviously cannot see the receipt. She took my name and address too so can't try phoning again later.
Do you have to go through a long process to report to trading standards - not sure if I can be doing with the hassle???Lightbulb moment 10-06-06

Was in Tesco today and noticed three tickets on the butchery with two prices for kg marked so assumed it was on a short code offer. Bought one lot and got it at the cheaper price. Bought a second product and was charged the higher price. When I took this to the CSD I asked my wife to go with the lad to "check that she saw the right product" when she came back she says to me that the bottom price meant to say Lb. when I explain that did not happen on the first product she tells me that cant be the case because there is no reduction at the moment but would I like a refund. So I say "no I would like you to honour your price promise" she sighs snatches up the phone and as I draw another breath glares at me and says "will have to talk to a manager" I was ready to start tel her how two prices on the same prduct constitute a misleading price and the lower should always apply in this case when she tries to explain it should of read Lb. When I then tell her it may of supposed to say that but it did not she sighs again and says "Fine have it" and scans it all thourgh. Why on earth are they so annoying when it comes to this. They made a mistake and then try to call you a liar. I was two steps away from asking to make a complaint about her.0

TRADING STANDARDS are not interested if you have been overcharged. It really is that simple.
What they are interested in is that people are BEING overcharged.
Sounds like the same thing but it isn't. If you've been overcharged, it's happened and unless you have concrete evidence, such as a receipt and a priced product, you might as well whistle.
HOWEVER, if you get TS into the store and it is STILL over charging, then that's a different thing altogether. They will have a word with the manager and get the situation rectified. If they keep being told to go to the store and the keep finding things, then and only then are you likely to see any prosecutions.0 -

I know what you mean. However, I have had TS into the Great Yarmouth store on two occasions.
The first was over the Justin & Colin How Not to Decorate book. For some reason, the store was too fick(sic) to take the £3.97 stickers off the remaining stock. So we had three of them over the course of three weeks and finally gave in and got TS in. They found that it was still being charged at £8.xx and duly got something done about it.
The Second time was over the Pasta fiasco where all (except one, apparently) varieties of pasta were reduced. The label said "All Varieties" and it wasn't. I had a 30 minute arguement with a manager at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon who was so adamant that he was right I openly told him I'd get TS in. So certain was he that on Friday afternoon the next week, TS hauled them over the coals again for still displaying misleading Shelf Talkers.
I got a letter from TS telling me that the store would be in touch with an appology. It took at least another week to get the letter and even then they wouldn't admit the mistake saying "we are sorry that you feel you were overcharged". Will these people not take the bloody hint?
TS is worth while if you want to get something sorted out. If you want the same free stuff everytime you walk in, don't call them0 -

This is exactly my point more people need to report these blatant acts of complacency, r&r should bring about a correction, it doesn't its as simple as that.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

I applaud this post with the greatest of sincerety.
More and more on this thread we are seeing the words "I am new to this R&R thing, what do i do to get free stuff?" and quotes of the like. In the beginning the intention was clearly stated that posters would be happy with proper charging and not being overcharged. Through natural evolution it has mostly degenerated into a boasting ground or a complaining ground about peoples often unfair treatment by Tesco customer services...neither of which are really related to actual misprices.
Mr Fellow (seems rude typing Old) you have shown that it is actually the overcharging that you care about and not getting something for nowt, for that you should be applauded.
Once again, I categorically state that I personally have no issues with those that use the r&r policy in the spirit that it is intended. If you want the same free stuff everytime you walk in

Ben, you too are correct. As I have just said, most people are simply out for free stuff and then get uppity when (if) they dont get it rather than getting the real issue sorted out.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
