Everbright smiles appear to have ceased trading according to my bank. 31 MARCH 2010

Have checked and There doesn't appear to be any site's now with the Everbright name,

Also there are no Internet links from other sites as these are now broken. the only entry I can find is their terms and conditions page

"NOT SURE IF THIS IS GOOD NEWS OR BAD" for it's customers "victims"

No doubt they will start trading under a new name

1/04/2010 Have managed to log on to everbright today, they have changed the adverts appearance and they also appear to have changed the wording on the terms and conditions.
• Here is an an article in the Huddersfield Examiner about these tooth whitening scams: http://www.examiner.co.uk/views-and-blogs/columnists/2010/04/02/denis-don-t-be-bitten-by-tooth-whitening-scam-86081-26159302/

The page that the article is on is plastered with ads - for teeth whitening scams!! The ads are served by doubleclick which is owned by Google.
http://www.doubleclick.com/contact/index.aspx
So Google is helping these scammers to advertise their scams and profiting from selling adspace for scams. So much for their (Googles) 'do no evil' policy!

• I have also been sucked in by Ever Bright Smiles - so far I have only been debited £2.64 from by bank account (i gave them my debit card no) which is the postage cost for the free trial. I cancelled my card on the same day and have now got a new card with a new number. The Bank have said this should now be ok and the company will not be able to take any more money from me - I hope they are right! The 11th day when they are supposed to take £150 is on 10 April so I have my fingers crossed. Can't believe how stupid I have been!!

It does now appear that the banks have no hesitation in cancelling this particular recurring payment involving Everbright and associated companies.

This is due to what my bank called adverse Internet accounts/responses regarding the companies.

I assume that means bad publicity from sites like this.
• Hi there me and my partner where stung by this lot as well. We have just found a number and managed to cancell our supscription. The number is 02033185241 good luck.

Hi this number appears to be for Clean Whites , "not Everbright Smiles",
Clean whites is the company associated with Everbright in some adverts but is much easier to cancel by email or phone. as the phone line is based in London UK
Everbright is the company all the problems are with. they are based in the United States.
If you have canceled one GOOD, But make sure you haven't got a contract with Everbright as well which is usually the case.a lot of people have been court out by this.

Also keep an eye on your bank statements if you see IBUILDWEALTH contact your bank immediately as this is a fraudulent claim, Your bank will send out the relevant paper work for you to sign. This company appears to be associated with Everbright in some dubious way.
• I am totally devestated, yesterday i logged online to check my bank acount and to my horror....this company has taken almost £60 from me, also making me over-drawn so more charges on top for an item i still havnt even recieved!!! I wish i had seen this thread then i would not have touched it.How come they are still alllowed to continue doing this? I contacted my bank to have my card blocked so no further payments can be taken, and the banks fraud team are investigating this. I hope that some way some how i manage to get my money back. I have also just sent this company an email complaining...(gutted!!):(

My bank has stated DON'T try different numbers to cancel your order the only number you should call to cancel payments is the number you have on your ORDER COMPLETED, emailed to you, the one with your reference order number on it.
It states if you have any questions regarding your order call us at:
The current number is 001 888 694 9257

By law this is the number the company has given you to contact them!

If this number is unavailable "which it is so you cant cancel" this is classed as "OBSTRUCTION" by a court or a bank.

If possible have some one with you when you call to verify you have called to cancel, keep a record of the number, and the time and date you called.

1: Write a letter confirming you wish to cancel your subscription, Also include a copy of your order details sent to you by Everbright, send it to the current address given on the terms and conditions for Everbright. SEND THIS BY REGISTERED POST
this is proof for the bank that you have attempted to cancel.

2: Also email this letter confirming your cancellation to care@everbrightsmiles.com This email is correct on 1/4/2010

*Then call your bank and report your card lost or stolen, this immediately blocks the card from use by any company or individual around the world.it also stops the inconvenience of having to start a new account if you close your account. N.B you should get a new card within two days so it's not to inconvenient."I got mine the next day"

All this should be done immediately after you have ordered if you suspect something is not right.
or as soon as possible after money has been taken from your account.

This is to stop any company be it Ever Bright or any company associated with them, from taking further payments from you're account and for the bank to have confirmation that you have attempted to cancel but have been obstructed from doing so!
the bank will then send you some forms to fill in, they will then wait 30 days to see if the product arrives, if it does at least you've got something for your money !!!!

They will then contact the company to inform them that you as a customer have been obstructed from canceling any further payments to their company, And that this is contrary to their terms and conditions of sale.

They will then also attempt to get any monies taken, reimbursed."though I must say this is probably unlikely to happen"

Apart from this you probably haven't received any product anyway so this will be used by the bank also.

The main thing is DON'T PANIC These companies want you to do that!, They can get more money by sending you on wild goose chases by phoning different numbers etc

Once you know no more money can be taken from your account, believe me you feel a lot better.

Hope this helps.

Ref: registered post please disregard this now, The bank has now stated that all they require for proof of cancellation is any copy's of emails sent to the companies requesting cancellation, These must have been sent to the email addresses stipulated on the companies terms and conditions.Ie their head office
