everbright smiles scam

just like to say I have just received my box from everbright and then discovered the true cost of this innocent looking item. I phoned them in usa on 0018886949257 spoke to an advisor and he told me I could either post it back or pay £19.95 to keep it and they would cancel all future payments. I hope they do do this. Apparently my bank will reimburse me if any more monies are taken out. This is due to me cancelling. I hope this helps some people who may be scammed. Merry xmas to you all. x:T

• I too have been taken but finding it difficuilt to get a contact no for them if you still have USA contact details I would be grateful I am in Australia
Cheers Still Smiling:o
• I too was tricked and deceived by this Company. The promotion encouraged the use of two products for the best effects and I ordered both at £3.95 for one and 0.95 for the other. Like many others only one of the goods arrived and before the end of the trial period I was billed £150. Nobody answered the customer service number and as for the Halifax Mastercard support service? I rang them immediately and they said they knew of the scam and not to worry they would take care of me and handle it and sort out the dispute but it could take 30 days. Five days later I got a letter saying they couldn't do anything - Two scams? They better do something about it as isn't that why you use a credit card - for extra guarantee? I finally got through to America to cancel all future 'subscriptions' but can I rely on my bank to ensure no more is taken out?

I have learned that both my father and sister have been duped by two of these companies.

My sister with Everbright and my father with Extreme Whitening,.

My sister has had her bank cancel the original credit card that the 2 trial products were purchased with and has had the money reimbursed to her card by Nationwide.

However, Extreme Whitening are proving a little more difficult than this and are stating that i entered into a contract to continue memnership with them by not returning the orignal product. My father is 64 and is by no means an avid user of the internet. So i ordered the trial product of 3.99 back in november.

He has since learned that on his credit card statements from TSB mastercard that he has been billed twice in december for 2 x 58 pounds . The company have replied to my email complaining about their duping of customers and insist they can offer a discount for the continued items being despatched and sent of 28 pounds.

Can someone advise me as to whether tsb can help - my father has additionl protection for fraud and identity loss as well but i need help as am not sure what to do >>???

• Hi there (originally posted on another thread for another Teeth Whitening scam but thought I would also post here).

I noticed today whilst going through my bank statements that I had been charged £153 for a teeth whitening kit.

Like so many others I saw a 'trial' offer online for about $8 inc P&P and perhaps rather gullibly thought I would give it a go, but also like so many others I didn't read the T&Cs fully. I had initially recieved the first sample and though that was that, but when a second sample came through a few weeks later I simply assumed it was an error on the postage front.

What I didn't realise was that after my first initial payment of £8 for the trial sample, I would then automatically be charged another payment in a couple of weeks for a 3 month subscription being sent from the USA! So not only do you get charged the cost of the item but also the International handling fee as well. I only noticed this in my account today as it nearly tipped me over my Overdraft limit.

I could not even find any emails sent to me from 'Everbrite Smiles' and it was then alarm bells started to ring and I felt like kicking myself. I went to their website and clicked the Contact Us link to which you get an address in the UK up north and also an American address. I googled the UK address trading name H5-UK Ltd and immediately found a link indicating card fraud or scamming for Everbrite smiles, also trading as Premier Whitening

I phoned Lloyds Bank immediately and he knew exactly what it was regarding before I had explained things in great detail. He said that technically it isn't 'fraud' as such but its still wrongful trading as they do not clearly state the future payments in their initial offer as its buried so far in the small print. He also said as they trade by different names it is also misleading. Plus he said that their reasoning for the charge is that they say if you are not happy with the trial, you need to send it back to them in order to stop the further 3 month subscription, but on the complaint I found, the man stated that he'd done that but they charged him anyway, so its a complete con.

I had paid by my debit card so Lloyds have filed a dispute claim against this company, refunded me my £153, cancelled my debit card and issued me a new one (so they cannot charge me again).

And after all that I haven't even used the kit yet!! It had better work after all this pullava!! :D:D:D:D

I have learned my lesson! But beware! Contact your bank immediately if you see any unexpected payments.

Hope this is useful info
• What was I thinking? On Saturday 9th I entered debit card info for two deals in combination like the guy below, first £0.95 to "Clean Whites" and then £3.95 to "everbright smiles". As soon as I had done this I had that instant nausea-moment as I Googled the companies and read the many articles alledging scams. The fact that neither company emailed me details of the transaction afterwards was highly suspicious and about an hour after my order I was on the phone cancelling my my order.

I spoke to the first company 0808 2389891 who seemingly were able to cancel the transaction. They told me that they would not refund shipping costs. I poinited out to them that it was only an hour since I had ordered and that they had not shipped the item yet. Additionally, I quoted their own terms and conditions at them which actually read: " shipping and handling charges become non-refundable once the product has left the warehouse."

I could not get hold of the second company in this country or in America. I emailed them even though I had read that the email link went nowhere. Never-the-less, I sent them an email cancelling my order anyway.

Monday morning came and still no email from either company acknowledging that I had even purchased the trials in question, let alone cancelling them. However, about 12pm I did receive an email from support2@globalcustomersupport.net apparently cancelling an order but I had no idea which company this was from as the ref numbers they quoted did not tie up with any information I had. They just signed themselves off with "customer support." Highly suspect!

In the end I rang Lloyds TSB who cancelled my card. If either company have the front to make a fuss about this I'll see them in court.

This is obviously a scam post. You no doubt work for the scammers, or are indeed on of them.
