I went to day to the Lush in Manchester - the one by Next opened at 9.30 and there was nothing left when I got there at 9.35, so I walked around to the Market Street branch and ended up first in the queue when they opened at 11am :j:j. I managed to get a legends box (gold one) and my 20 quids worth so am happy but there were people behind me in the queue who already had boxes from the other store opening and still queued for more!!!! The store by Next let you have as many boxes as you could carry but the Market Street one stipulated only one per customer :j

Still I'm a happy Bunnykins and thanks to the person with the original post as I would never have known about the sale otherwise  XX

 I was behind you in the queue getting the Xmas Eve box set :) A woman tried to get it off me before I paid lol

Glad you managed to hang on to it - I'm not sure how much of my hat box I'll get to keep as son who was on the queue with me is currently in the bath trying it all out!!! :rotfl: lol
:naughty: Save money on toiletries: no new/duplicate items until I've used up all existing supplies

I went to Westfield and didn't get to the Lush store till about.30pm- everything was gone! The tables were clear and you could count the gift boxes on two hands! spoke to a guy behind the counter, apparently Lush don't do deliveries on sunday so no change until monday which is unfortunately too late for me. Hope everyone got what they went in for.

Sorry, what time was it that you got there? I'd consider going Monday if I could be guaranteed a decent offer but one person on here got a single lump of soap!
  • Hi all, im new to the forum and pretty new to lush. have used a few products in the past but cant afford to shop there all the time.

my brother got me a gift voucher fro lush for £25 and i had £10 from an aunt. so i thought i'd treat myself today and spend it all in lush.

decided after reading this forum yesterday that i should aim to go pretty early and i pursuaded my mum to come with me into town. we got there at 8am and there was one person in front of me in the queue.

i was pleased i was second and was just waiting to see what was in the offer. by 8.30 there were several people in the queue waiting and by opening time at 9am there were a fair few people about.

mum suggested i might aswell spend an extra fiver to make it upto £40 then i could get two items.

when doors opened the manager suggested an orderly one at a time concept which was a fab idea. i saw 1 legends box from where i was standing and the person in front of me grabbed it, when i got closer i saw there was another and got excited. then i saw her reach in for another item but fortunately it wasnt the other box!!

then it was my turn! straight in for the legends box, plus there was a christmas eve box hiding so i grabbed that too!! so glad ii had mum with me as wouldn't have been able to hold everything.

i then aimed to get my basket upto the £40 mark. when i went to the till it worked out i'd spent £60.05! so the manager who served me said i could get another box, as i felt a bit rushed i grabbed a stardust box (because it was pink and pretty!).

when i came out the shop i realised i'd spent £60 and got gifts that were worth £97, £65 and £25 for absolutely nothing!! so thats nearly £200 worth of savings!!! All day i've been in a kind of shock about just how lucky i was to get all that stuff!! i cant wait to start using it all! thought think i'll be stocked up till next year.

just thought i'd share my story.

    merry christmas everyone. xxx

I'm not saying this is right, but .....I think that some Lushies feel it fairer for people who visit the store all year to get a good bargain, than those who just come in once a year for the big sale.

Lol then the lushies need to take it up with the management.

Ive been buying stuff since CTG but now I wait for the sales for most of my purchases.
Lush is happy, I am happy.

No one knows the back story of people buying multiple boxes either.

Think it'd be harder to implement anyway- unless people sign up to some sort of loyalty scheme which not everyone wants to do for various reasons. Then you'd get people giving their loyalty cards to each other to collect points and discounts on... using one per many people shopping...

And then there are people like me who can really only afford to shop there once in a blue moon- if at all, I do visit to browse quite a few times but never can actually afford to buy anything. And those that buy once a year and live off what they get that one shopping day (normally boxing day). If they did shop through the year they'd probably have no need to binge buy when they do.

But do agree that its a little unfair to thise that cannot for whatever reason, join the Lush queue and stand and fight out for the desired Hat Box. Guess then we're on to the same territory as the Next Xmas sale.

Maybe they'd do well to raffle the Hat Boxes to everyone who spend over a said amount. When the weeks sale was over they could contact the winners to give them the hat boxes for free.

Having said all that, I don't own a bath I use showers and wish they'd do a hat box for us showe people!
