thanks beenie - I couldnt work it out! Maths is not my strong point!:o
I'll see what others recommend and might get 2 tins while it's on offer, need to get to Tesco to get the good night milk so 2 big tins should last a while as it will only be 4 bottles a dayA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Glam, IMO once they're eating food its a lot easier to just switch their milk over with no issues at all. Seth used to have aptamil but when I weaned him I just swapped to C&G cos it was cheaper, with no issues at all. When they're little swapping the milk gives them the runs and the grumps but their little tummies get much less sensitive as they get older so less issuesI know, but I'm assuming its going to take a bit more than just giving him a cup of moo milk on his first birthday for him to switch
I intend to switch over gradually, mixing in 1oz at a time with his normal formula, so week 1 will be 4oz formula 1oz milk, week 2 3oz formula 2oz milk, etc etc

That was what I thought and the Aptamil is so expensive!I used to love gripe water, its not as nice now but thats cos they took the alcohol out of it :rotfl:
Right this hours new debate - new clothes - wash them or not? Got some new 0 - 3 months stuff as old stuff seems smaller (too much washing through :money:) and dont know whether to wash it or not - Thoughts please ladies
Gripe water is tasty!
I always wash new clothes, I remember asking on the pg thread before and Sami pointed out some of the following
- you don't know the conditions in which the clothes were made (poor countries, poor conditions - possible chemicals used on them)
- they then get carted half way around the world on minging ships/lorries and end up on floors in warehouses and shops.

Chances are they have been made in bulk so have only ever touched the other clothes, before being wrapped/boxed up. Besides, if they were that ming they'd look or smell ming. But then again i'm not known for my fussyness, i'm pro-germ :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Morning all
we have our first "new parent group" today 12-1.30 not sure what to expect but looking forward to it.
I decided to persevere with the breastfeeding rather than substitute one feed with formula especially as Tegan sleeps through the night at the moment usually 7/8 hours. Can't get her to sleep early tho. I fed her at 7 last night then put her into her night things and bed at 7.30. She cried and I fed heer again at 8 (a really good feed where yo feel the milk running through your breast). Then didn't manage to get her to sleep till 9.45! But she then slept through until I woke her at 6 for some more feeding (not sure how long she would have gone if I'd left her but she went straight back to sleep till I woke her up at 8.30). And fed her again and she is now lying on my feeding pillow she's had a poo, smiled whilst being sick and just staring at me making me smile
I'm generally in the never wake a sleeping baby camp but break my rule when I feel like it :cool:My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »Morning lay-dees!

Big boy car seats have FINALLY arrived today. I ordered them ages ago but there were problems getting them delivered over from Germany. To be fair I used Olivers Babycare who I hadn't used before but I would thoroughly recommend because they sent me regular email updates to let me know what was happening - can't beat good customer service
2 big boy things in 1 day - it is DSSs birthday today, he is 10
have you seen maxi cosi now do an isofix base that is for a grp0 seat then and then a grp1 seat? wasn't that your idea?
http://www.mothercare.com/b/339141031/ref=sc_iw_c_1_0_42770041_1MFD - thanks that's helpful - sometimes she does bring her wind up okay, so would it be okay to not use it on those occasions? I'm just wondering why the HV said to use it for every feed, that's what put me off using it, i would be happy to try it after a feed if she's not bringing it up.
Last night i laid her on her front on my knees and it definitely soothed her, but rather than drawing her knees up as i was watching out for, she stretches her body out inc. legs, and she does this when feeding aswell, arching her back.
IMO gripe water is ming, it stinks and Edgar hated it, just brought back a full feed after he had it:rolleyes:
I personally recommend avoiding the 1yr+ formula coz it's vanilla flavoured and I have issues with this esp as they don't admit it on the box0 -
She's been asleep 9 hours now
Not sure if i should wake her or not
I don't wash new clothes, ever.

Am I being naive again? Can't be bothered with all that mixing faff!! He eats curry without blinking, I am sure a bit of cows milk isn't going to phase him!!
*will be eating her words in a few weeks time*
Its cos I use milk to get him to sleep stillon a purely selfish level I dont want to not have any sleep myself cos he hasnt got a belly full of warm milk!!

 The b00gers stole my idea
I got the Kiddy Infinity Pro it rated as the safest Group 1 in the Which tests, safer than the isofix seats!
I have been subscribed to Which for 15 years now, it is about time I followed it's advice!
