What's the difference with gripe water then, does it just taste like water? Do i give it in a bottle?

Would have to buy some bottles :o

Yep i've tried loads of things, over my shoulder, pulling her up by her arms to sitting, bum patting, on her front, circular rubbing, rocking her back and forwards, bouncing my knees up and down... Now and again she'll bring up teeny burps but i just know there's more in there, so there's definitely little bubbles. No idea why she's taking in so much wind, afaik she's latching on properly.

any recommendations on follow on milk?

I'm using Aptamil right now but only because he was on the comfort so I just switched to the same brand for hungry baby. Its very expensive so wasn't sure whether to go with the SMA thats on offer in Boots or go back to C&G

    Actually, whats the best deal?

    ASDA - SMA 1.6KG £10
    BOOTS - SMA 2 X 900G £12

Where does the time go?

gripe water tastes like flavoured water. You give it via spoon or syringe (I do syringe J loves it).

she could be a gulper so giving herself wind, I think this was J's problem. ]My HV suggested just rubbing the back in an upwards motion, not up & down. the gripe water definitely produces big burps!

Gripe water is a sugary sweet smelling old fashioned way of getting baby's wind up. You give them about 2.5ml when they are tiny, and more when older, they gulp it down (most babies like the taste) and a few minutes later (and a good burping song) you get a big burp that rattles the windows :D

    Some babies hate it though!

I have a medicine spoon which I use (the liquid goes into the handle) which is fab. Or use the syringe that comes in the neurofen.

Thanks for the gripe water tips i think i'll give it a go, she'd be a perfectly perfect baby if she didn't have her evening cries!

Still more expensive than moo milk though Em.
I know, but I'm assuming its going to take a bit more than just giving him a cup of moo milk on his first birthday for him to switch ;)

I intend to switch over gradually, mixing in 1oz at a time with his normal formula, so week 1 will be 4oz formula 1oz milk, week 2 3oz formula 2oz milk, etc etc ;)

Glam, IMO once they're eating food its a lot easier to just switch their milk over with no issues at all. Seth used to have aptamil but when I weaned him I just swapped to C&G cos it was cheaper, with no issues at all. When they're little swapping the milk gives them the runs and the grumps but their little tummies get much less sensitive as they get older so less issues :)

LOL - you are much more thoughtful than me!! I just intend giving him a sippy cup of moo milk and letting him get on with it :o

Am I being naive again? Can't be bothered with all that mixing faff!! He eats curry without blinking, I am sure a bit of cows milk isn't going to phase him!!

*will be eating her words in a few weeks time*
