re: the drinks discussion
Not wanting to start a debate, but is there anyone on here reluctant to give their LOs (animal-based) milk? just curious, haven't made my mind up of course but I have my reservations at the moment (disclaimer: haven't done huge amounts of research, just my own opinions at the moment)
I drink moo milk so Chris was given it too but after hearing lots about moo milk being linked to eczema and goats being good for it we've swapped.
I'm scared of soya milk after hearing (scare mongoring?) stories, so erm not sure that is of any use whatsoever :rotfl:Random
lmfao.
Took me about 7 goes before i deciphered itWhy do people write like that??
So I'm confused, was it not ok to give Maddy Jack Daniels over ice then before bed 'cos she sleeps really well on it???!!!

On the bottle it says not to give juice from a bottle - to use a cup or beaker. I think (but am probably wrong) that it's something to do with tooth decay.I didn't see, but well done on being brave! He will either wake up for it, in which case he needs it, or won't. Hope he sleeps through, just so I can totally go 'ner ner ner, told you!' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I hope I can log on tomorrow and say you were right - Jack had last bottle at 8pm and slept from 8.30pm til 7am but I think I have more chance of being handcuffed to a fart as my darling father would say :rotfl:So I'm confused, was it not ok to give Maddy Jack Daniels over ice then before bed 'cos she sleeps really well on it???!!!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Got no JD here. Would Southern Comfort do the trick?
Thanks feelie - I'm made of tough stuff so it doesn't bother me if people say things that I don't agree with and a lot of the time it's useful to get everyone's opinions. IMO if you don't want to hear it then don't ask.
MFD - agree with Beenie and  at DH! I haven't had a chinese for ages :drool:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Wot? So I'm a chocolate-feeding, pro-early-weaning(prior to 24 weeks, not 6 weeks), computer game-allowing lazy !!!! um of 3, and dead proud
But dead strict about bed times. We parent in our own way and so long as your not beating the crap out of them, who cares?
My husband is waching celeb BB, the plonker...
I'm odd in a way - super (obsessively, evangelically and loudly) pro breastfeeding, babywearing, co-sleeping, gentle discplining parent, who dresses her baby in expensive babygrows, lets him play with her iPhone/the remotes and will allow him to watch pretty much what he wants on TV and play games when he wants. I'm not that strict with censorship, yet he has never had anything sweet or sugary (well, apart from by accident).Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Totalllllllyyyy....
But Jack Daniels? You posh git
OH gets given loads of bottles at Xmas of different stuff. He gives contractors the jobs at work so they fall over themselves to keep him sweet.Hence why we are always having work done rather cheaply, ie: corian worktops at less than cost price supplied and fitted!!!

Admission to make DS2 (just 8mths) was eating, bombay potatoes, tikka masala curry sauce on rice, naan bread, prawn crackers, chips today at a chinese/indian restaurant. He was also attacking my arm and squealing until I gave him some ice cream - spoon after spoonful! People in the restaurant though he was so funny!:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009

Aless- my only reservation with cow's milk is that it can make people (well me anyway) a bit mucussy (nice!) so I might be a little concerned from that aspect, but to be honest would be most likely to try Henry on it and see.
Also I would be willing to pay the extra for organic, since I think dairy is one of the things where there is a difference between organic and non-organic (but I guess that's a whole other debate).
Tara- I thought follow-on milk had more iron than cow's milk, which is deemed to be necessary for little ones. We survived on cow's milk though, so can't be that important.....:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Evening all. Not been on since this morning, have been busy throwing Izzy's birthday party
Lots of fun had by all. We have all the leftovers in the world now - anyone want some Maka-Paka cake?

LO loves curry. Sometimes his eyes water, but he still keeps shovelling more and more in!
I don't know much about Indian or Chinese food, so I don't know if I'd feed it to LO in a restaurant, but stuff I cook at home, or at SILs I'm fine giving him - no matter how spicy.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

Glam- you could always re-open 'mincegate' with all that mince to cook up.
I also like that fact that there are so many different lifestyles, parenting styles and general points of view on here. It gives me so many opportunities to say 'I know someone who......' or 'a friend of mine....' to real life friends! I feel like you have all opened my eyes to the complex world of parenting, and for that I am truly grateful.
