yep, yep and because they weren't
I used formula for chris until around 18mth then got fed up of him refusing to drink moo milk to I mixed them together slowly increasing the moo milk until he was off formula. I wouldn't use todler milk because its all vanilla flavoured figured that would just add to my problems!

We did use the Stokke, Benjamin was at the head of the table (of 24!!) and loved it - he did drop something greasy on the shopping bag though :mad:

Claire - Benjamin eats all sorts when we are out. I try not to give him anything too salty but I don't worry about spicy! He loves curry!!



We are going for another Chinese Buffet (at a different restaurant) on Thurs for DSS birthsay - just me, hubby, Benjamin, DSS and the practice wife :rotfl::rotfl: Benjamin will eat more adventurous stuff than DSS

like I said, I've not done a huge amount of research or anything, but something to the effect of drinking milk beyond breastfeeding being 'unnatural' as no other animals do it IYSWIM. Also, I have huge issues with the dairy industry (though am too chicken to wean myself off it completely - though I do opt for soy when I can) from an animal welfare point of view.

anyway, just curious...I haven't done the research to back up any claims I've read so not looking to take any sides on any debate

Do you find that by its use by date mince from Asda is often brown? I always worry and try to use it 2 days before the date




I keep meaning to ask - is there a reason that babies shouldn't have whippy ice-cream from a machine? There is very little that I wouldn't let Benjamin have (that's probably a lie but go with me!!) but I have in my head that they can't have that?
And last night I had to stop MIL giving Benjamin it again (she was feeding him it last time we went for neices birthday). She said 'well they didn't have these silly rules in my day' and I said 'they didn't have bl00dy ice-cream machines in your day!!!' so she humphed off!!!
Am I getting confused about not being able to eat it when you are pregnant?

Follow-on milks - personally never used them, she went straight onto full fat cows milk. When Katie turned one she was on 3 bfs a day still and I just made sure she got plenty of iron rich food and all red meat was followed by something rich in Vit C. I still follow this now except we're down to 2 feeds a day.

Katie likes Chinese and Indian but we don't go to restaurants or have take aways that often due to cost. Poppadoms are a hit though with mango chutney.

I don't think I have ever been to a Chinese buffet place before but I have been here at Liverpool ONE!

I'm like you Aless, I have big issues with the dairy industry but am a complete hypocrit as I find it very hard to give it up.

I think dairy is much harder to digest than breast milk, but then I guess that is true of almost every food.

Isn't it the risk of listeria from the machine's not having been cleaned thoroughly/often enough? (listeria being a potential cause of m/c when pregnant)
