Tara- I'm just watching Meet the Fockers on BBC3 and she recommends giving the baby rum!

Glam- you could always re-open 'mincegate' with all that mince to cook up.

I also like that fact that there are so many different lifestyles, parenting styles and general points of view on here. It gives me so many opportunities to say 'I know someone who......' or 'a friend of mine....' to real life friends! I feel like you have all opened my eyes to the complex world of parenting, and for that I am truly grateful.

In the olden days, :cool: I BF for 7mths then they went onto Cows milk, this follow-on stuff wasn't there. Maybe that accounts for DD's tail! Oh yeah, thanks Weezl, I now have a cupboard full of SMA follow on which I stocked up on like you said. XXX :A

Beenie, I can't work out what it's saying.

Aless, DS2 had follow on milk till 2 years (but cows milk in anything cooked) on advice from his pead. He needed the extra iron. DS1 was lactose intolerant till he was about 4/5, so he had either juice (squash) or SMA growing up milk (I think). With Amber I think I will probably stick to follow on till about 18 months, for no real reason... don't want to risk another one getting the dia-diddly after a sip of cows milk and I personally think they need the extra vitamins as well as habit I guess since I did it with the other two. Don't know for sure, will play it by ear I guess.

I drink moo milk so Chris was given it too but after hearing lots about moo milk being linked to eczema and goats being good for it we've swapped.
I'm scared of soya milk after hearing (scare mongoring?) stories, so erm not sure that is of any use whatsoever :rotfl:

On the bottle it says not to give juice from a bottle - to use a cup or beaker. I think (but am probably wrong) that it's something to do with tooth decay.

Thanks feelie - I'm made of tough stuff so it doesn't bother me if people say things that I don't agree with and a lot of the time it's useful to get everyone's opinions. IMO if you don't want to hear it then don't ask.

MFD - agree with Beenie and :mad: at DH! I haven't had a chinese for ages :drool:

I'm odd in a way - super (obsessively, evangelically and loudly) pro breastfeeding, babywearing, co-sleeping, gentle discplining parent, who dresses her baby in expensive babygrows, lets him play with her iPhone/the remotes and will allow him to watch pretty much what he wants on TV and play games when he wants. I'm not that strict with censorship, yet he has never had anything sweet or sugary (well, apart from by accident).

OH gets given loads of bottles at Xmas of different stuff. He gives contractors the jobs at work so they fall over themselves to keep him sweet. Hence why we are always having work done rather cheaply, ie: corian worktops at less than cost price supplied and fitted!!!
