    re: the drinks discussion

Not wanting to start a debate, but is there anyone on here reluctant to give their LOs (animal-based) milk? just curious, haven't made my mind up of course but I have my reservations at the moment (disclaimer: haven't done huge amounts of research, just my own opinions at the moment)

Ps. in case anyone is wondering Glam hasn't run off upset, her tea was ready and I imagine she's now trying to keep BIL off her spot on the sofa :)

and has failed miserably as I am still putting Jack to bed! :p

Oh, please don't fall out over me. I know there are people on here who are against the weaning before 6 months and I really wish now I hadn't said anything about doing it as it seems to have opened a big can of worms. I did it because I needed advice on the purees and stuff but maybe i should have got it from somewhere else.

CSH - Thanks for your post and for looking out for me.

MFD - We are cool as you know, I know you were just interested in why I had started.

As for the juice (shall we call this juicegate :rotfl:) Jack will not take water, he just spits it out. He gets a bit constipated if he doesn't have water so I need to get it into him somehow - I was using the juice from the steamer but this only lasts a day. The juice was totally sugar and crap free ;) and I probably put 1 part juice to 100 parts water.

From now on, me thinks I will post less about what I'm up to - you're probably bored of it all anyway. Unfortunately I'm one of those people who will tell you their life history if you sit still long enough!

What with offending someone yesterday and all this - I feel like a right loon! :o

Jack asleep for now so need to go and cook some mince (3 packs all of which are use by tomorrow but look OK). Think I'll just load the slow cooker with a batch of bolganese and then do the rest tomorrow.

Where does the time go?

Mfd did you use the stokke? I used it at a Chinese buffet once.

Drinks - I see no reason to give lo anything. He occasionally has a bit of water so he can practice using a cup but has never had juice. I plan on just never buying squash or fizzy drinks but he can have them when visiting, so they won't be forbidden.

Aless. I'm going to breastfeed for a long time so won't really ever give cows milk as a drink. I won't sorry when older tho. Why might it be an issue and does it apply to formula too?

    Wot? So I'm a chocolate-feeding, pro-early-weaning(prior to 24 weeks, not 6 weeks), computer game-allowing lazy !!!! um of 3, and dead proud :D

But dead strict about bed times. We parent in our own way and so long as your not beating the crap out of them, who cares?

My husband is waching celeb BB, the plonker...

Did you (and Benjamin) enjoy your Chinese last night, MFD? :)

I didn't get to eat that much because I was trying to feed/amuse a baby who was clingy and tired
I got really  with hubby because I had got a plate for Benjamin with rice, noodles, chip, mushrooms, brocolli and mushroom foo yung on it and when I left to get myself some food (leaving Benjamin munching a prawn cracker and the food cooling) hubby let the waitress take it away  what are you doing you numpty :mad::mad: I don't very often let rip at hubby, especially in public, but I was fuming!!!
So he ended up eating prawn toast with me :rotfl:

Then we all went to MILs social club and Benjamin stayed awake dancing and entertaining his fans until 11.45pm!!!

I'd be interested to know your thoughts. I am a little reluctant to introduce Benjamin to cows milk but I think that is more about him growing up than anything :o

No - i'd not considered not giving LO animal-based milk. Should I have?
She's had a bottle of cows yesterday and today for morning nap time - and guzzled the whole 8oz. I decided to start one bottle a day, then two, then three until she'll be on cows milk only when she turns one. (Just incase she had any ill effects/reaction to it!).

OH & I were pondering earlier if the Toddler Milks were necessary, or are the baby milk companies trying to make more money out of us? And are they a new thing? I don't remember them being around when DS & DD1 were babies?

    BTW - Hello everyone.

MFD - Did you bump into Krystal last night?
