My concerns centre around this (taken from Wikipedia)
Ethical concerns
Vegans and some other vegetarians do not consume milk for a variety of reasons. They may object to features of dairy farming including the necessity of killing almost all the male offspring of dairy cows (either by disposal soon after birth, for veal production, or for beef), the routine separation of mother and calf soon after birth, other perceived inhumane treatment of dairy cattle, and culling of cows after their productive lives.[66]
And also the levels of anti-biotics and growth hormones in non-organic milk.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Yeah it does go brown quite quickly but it's still red and dated tomorrow - still not started cooking yet
I have 3 x 1kg packs so better get a wriggly on. I do still cook it when it's gone a little brown but not too brown!
Damn phone kept ringing so I've unplugged it
I think like Elle said it's the listeria in the machine - can't guarantee it has been cleaned properly. Know they don't advise it in pregnancy but not sure about for LO's.
I cook when a bit brown too...but it always annoys me that they put a date on and half of the time if you leave it to that date it is beyond anything but the bin. One day I WILL take it back to them!!as long as its pasturised it's fine AFAIK though I'm not fussy on pasturisedness past 1yr or when pg
I did say something about it not being pasturised last night so I wasn't far out!
It is funny - I get  for giving him a whole pear or letting him hold a banana but then  because I won't let him have quavers or whippy ice-cream!!
LOL - tonight Benjamin had sausage! I thought that was 'bad' but he loved it!! I did him his own personal toad in the hole and he wolfed it down!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Yum-diddly-yum!
xx
It comes recomended then?
OH & I are supposed to be going for our 'going out' anniversary in a couple of weeks. Little Sis has been, and a few from work and all have said good things.
I was dubious because of the range of cuisine. I thought that you can't be good at cooking everything iykwim?:beer:0 -
Hi all, have skimmed yesterday and today, so not really keeping up but
DKAM so sorry to hear but at least you now know that moving away is the right thing to do.
Juicegate, Ello gets whatever is in the fridge watered down a lot but none goes in, she much prefers a cup of tea.
Cowgate, I agree the accepted method of milk production is cruel, but I cannot see an easy way round it, is there one?
IRL went to Christening today, had fabby time, Ello ate chili and rice and smiled at everyone but cried when they tried to have a cuddle with her. Millie is better, it seems to have been one of those 24hr things.MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -

FYI growth hormone is banned in the UK it 'may' be in products made in the USA but acording to the mark dolan doc I saw on bbc3 late last year there's almost non of it in uk products
I don't know about anti-biotics though.
also :eek::mad: at sugar's story!!0 -
Also Aless have you heard of robo dairies? they seem fab to me, not sure how easy it would be to get milk from one particular dairy (and it be pasturised) though
To be honest I think that is probably a result of big supermarkets driving down the price of dairy, and dairy farmers needing to become more efficient.
I'm so glad I'm not a cow- producing enough milk for one little tyke is enough for me!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

The one we are going to on Thurs has a big, no, massive chocolate fountain which is why DSS wants to go!!
Personally, I would NEVER eat anything from a chocolate fountain, horrible, unhygeinic, dirty things _pale_ just the thought makes me feel ill.
Its just that DH doesn't like Chinese . So we tend to go to where the menu is more varied (and has a good veggie choice!).
And a HUGE _pale_ to chocolate fountains from me too. I'm the same with dips at buffets! _pale_

Millie's Mum - Katie loves her cups of tea, we get kids teabags from Tesco that are decaff and are vanilla flavoured - she loves them, but DH and I never get a full cup of tea when she is around as she likes to help herself once it's cool enough. She has her own tea cup.Proud to be dealing with my debts

Sami - at one of the supermarkets (I can't remember at the moment) you can buy local milk from a named dairy. More expensive but I like to buy it to buy local.
Alternatively I buy from our local farm shop when I go past so I know it is locally produced.
3 - personally I don't think a buffet is a romantic meal. You have to keep getting up (often individually if you don't want to leave your handbag or carry it with you) and the waiters are always ready to pounce the second your plate is empty! Personal opinion. xx
