On teething powders, when do you use them? I used to use them when Seth was in a rage as it used to stop his screaming and send him to sleep almost immediately, but havent thought to use them now he is actually properly teething! He is just grumpy and moany now, and I cant remember the last time he had one of his rages, thank god!Mummy to

My parents can't get their car off the drive, so are walking to me - I hope they get here in time for me to get to my interview! It normally is about an hours walk, but I expect it will take them longer in all the ice. Should be ok getting out here - the main road has been gritted (the advantage of living in a tower block - I can see without leaving my living room!), and the caretakers have put some grit down on the cul-de-sac bit too - lots of cars have been going in and out so I should be ok. Will have to give myself an extra 15 mins to get the ice and snow off the car though!
I've been really (relatively) productive this morning. Washed up, washing on, nearly made the bed (just the duvet to go, but I was leaving that till naptime), kitchen bin emptied and cleaned and a few other bins emptied too. Now she is asleep I've put my lunch on to cook, sat down and not got up again. Must get a few more bits done while my food is cooking at least! Was planning to do the bathroom floor, but that might have to wait until this evening I think.
Oh - worse than cutting nails - I gave in and cut izzy's fringe the other day. We had been battling with hair clips for a while, but she always takes them out. I wanted to let it grow untl it was long enough to tie back, but I've given in to fringedom - she can grow it out when she is old enough to hate it, just like the rest of us had toIsabella Molly born 14th January 2009New challenge for 2011 - saving up vouchers to pay for Chistmas!Amazon £48.61 Luncheon Vouchers £240 -

I can't believe how awful it is outside today, it looks ok but is the iciest I have ever known, OH is working in sheffield today (if he's got there yet) and it took his mate 3 goes to get here and two of those were with the snow chains on!
I ventured up to the shop to get some milk and to see whether I would be able to make it to Tunetots this aft, got back having decided not to risk it to a msg on the answerphone saying it was cancelled anyway. I guess I should be grateful for the moneysaving aspects of not leaving the house!MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
How skinny is Camilla Dallerup? I think her legs would snap like a twig if you kicked her.
Hello everyone!
Thanks for all the birthday wishes for my baby 90% of the phases he's said to day were/are "I'm thweeee!"
I agree that some on here and in fact anywhere on the net seem a bit unduly anti-HVs but I assume they have only experienced grumpy/nasty/incompetant HVs My HV team are wonderful, I don't have much use for them with Edgar but I saw them loads with Chris when I was a clueless0 -

Henry hates having his toenails cut but is fine about having fingernails done..... it doesnt make sense.
Krystal, I am expressing about 7ozs at a time but still seem to fill up again quick and end up leaking....how long before this settles down and I only produce what I need? should I express less ? Hope this makes sense....

aww happy birthday to Chris, Sami! he sounds like he's really enjoying it.
sorry all, I've been lurking the past few days but not posting as been feeling a bit down and not like contributing (completely un-baby related, though having a baby makes me worry more about the other things IYSWIM?). we're doing fine here - about 4 inches of snow overnight and this morning, right after I told my dad I didn't think we were due any more!
oh and also, when the MWs came to discharge me on Monday (day 17), Finn had gained 1lb since birth!!
HV mentioned that I wouldn't be interested in mom & baby groups 'til he was around 6 weeks...rubbish, I'd go now if I knew of any. Going to get details when I take him to clinic next wk.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
