Tia that car story is funny...dh goes on that he is a better driver than me...well mr big head, I have never pranged the car or reversed it and got it stuck down hills.....I also passed my driving test with less minors than him:A
I do pretty much all the diy jobs round the house. When we did the boys room I had to plaster sections of the wall and fit skirting board along one wall. I am also the one who has always laid our carpets and linos over the years or hung doors etc........
BM Glad you all had a nice time ice-skating, and don't worry about spending too much money;)
Hey since Weezl said to go ahead and buy the iCandy this morning, dh now reckons I don't really coe on Money Saving Expert...he thinks I go on Money Squandering Experts:rotfl:Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Had my first RLT today, (32 weeks today, woohoo!)
And the baby liked it, she was moving so much, which kinda felt weird as she's getting big now and running out of room to move as much as she was..:p0 -

Tiamai_d wrote:I wouldn't worry about ice chips, I think if someone came at me with ice chips to suck I'd tell them to sod off(and the book to read for pooping was me

Ok no ice chips, someone suggested these as the G&A makes your lips dry (when I mentioned this to MIL, she replied saying "oh you won't need gas and air, you will go natural" I was like erm lets just see shall we)
I will think about what book to take in lolgot-it-spend-it wrote:Kindof- listwise I'm a little worried that you have to take your own toilet roll! I'm pretty sure you won't need it (unless it's moist toilet roll, although I think they had this in hospital too IIRC). Also I wouldn't bother with a toy for baby, to be honest, but then I don't like the idea of things like that getting 'hospital germs' on them which is probably quite irrational!
When I was in hospital the MWs were really funny about ladies using Always type pads instead of maternity ones , so maybe better to take an extra pack of maternity ones instead?
Underwear-wise I preferred big cheapy pants to disposable ones.
Also do you defo need to take formula in case you have problems BFing? At my hospital they provide it in sterile bottles already made up, which is much easier so might save you a bit of faff. Not sure if that's the same everywhere though?
The toilet roll was suggested on another forum cos the hospital one was awful, but yeah it does seem extreme lol
I agree with the teddy comment as well actually now lol
Why didnt they like you using always? surely its up to you? I have 2 packs of mat pads so far (20 pads) is that enough?
I bought some disposable ones, but will deffo look into getting some cheap ones to throw away cos a lot of people have said the disposable ones are awful
I need to check with MW about the forumlaManOnTheMoon wrote:A quick proper welcome to kindofagilr and newbie_maz.
I hope your stay is pleasurable.
Thank you for the welcome
Hello Sugarspun too(and everyone else lol)
OK its taking too long to put quotes in lol
Becles - The thing with the juice is a lot of forums I read that the water is warm and not so nice, so therefore would be much nicer with diluted juice lol
Yeah I might not take in a book or a mag (apart from the one for the loo lol)
Oh and I know I will prob be practically the same size when I come out as to go in lol I just meant I need spare clothes
As for worrying about anything else lol yes I will keep you here all day though lol, as it gets closer, I am getting scared lol, I mean I am going to be responsible for a little person soon eek, and also the pain of giving birth I just dont know what to expect
Sami-Bee - Yeah I dont think OH will want to eat lol (unless there was a fresh mcdonalds there lol)
Babywipes instead of facewipes good idea
I do need to check what the hospital provide if anything
Yeah I will need ear plugs cos any noise on the ward will have my awake lol maybe if I wear just 1 so I can heat bean but I would think I would hear bean anyway?
So are all the MWs meant to be pro BF? Just I am not someone who likes to bother people lol, and if bean doesnt take to BF I will be worried about asking for help all the time lol
Beanie - Yeah I need breast pads now, I have been leaking since about 20-25 weeks (I am hoping its a good sign that I might have a good supply lol I dont know if it works like that)
EA - Pleased you asked that EA cos thats exactly what I have and I am unsure about when/what to do lol I start my RLT tomorrow, I might start tonight thouhg I dunno lol

Hi all
Hopefully I'm back for good now. I tried to come on yesterday but got sidetracked looking for a discount code for Mr T and didn't make it on to the thread.
I'm sure I've missed loads and loads (I think we were on page 211), so I'll try and catch up a few pages, but not sure I'm going to be able to catch up on 950-odd posts!!!

I swear to blog, mothers looking down on other mothers, trying to make themselves seem superior, is what gives a lot of other mothers problems when they aren't "perfect"
I'm so laid back about all this crud Im practically horizontal.
I gave Keira BK fries today and 2 cookies. Shoot me now!
Well said and I couldn't agree more!
I couldn't give a fig about what people think. And luckily my family and social circle feel I'm the best candidate to be mother of my children.
PS: however neither have had BK/McD fries as Mummy is a veggie so we don't go!

Kindof - if you want breastfeeding to work, you need to know where to get help. In some hospitals midwives aren't very well trained and won't spare you much time. If you are worried about asking for help, find out where your nearest Breastfeeding Clinics are. Get some helpline numbers (La Leche League, NCT and BFN). Know what forums and websites to get help from (Krystal here, Kellymom, and the groups above). If breastfeeding is important, and you find it hard, you have to get help. This is one thing you are allowed to make a fuss about and ask for help. There are a few problems people encounter, but with the right help and support almost every woman can breastfeed. Sorry for rant. It is good to be prepared!
I've just sent an email to HV asking if someone can come and weigh Toby. Wonder what she'll say. Are HV services only for those who can get to clinic, or are they supposed to make allowances to those who aren't able to go there?
Elle - prepare your inbox for a big PM tomorrow, I think I shall be sending you one.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
I never used G&A (I had an epidural and even though I did feel all the pain, G&A just doesn't appeal to me) so not sure about the dryness, but do you think you would want to pass it someone to chew on some ice? From what I've been told that G&A is your bestest friend and there is no way your going to let it out of your sight!
Always pads for when you get home, they like to check your towels and can judge the bleeding better on maternity towels, but 20 is plenty.
I always had diluting juice, plain water reminds me of being sick and I can drink more if it's disguised.
You won't bother the MW, you will find they will be around and will wander over when you feed anyway.0
