Thanks krystal for the post explaining how the helpline works. It just rang and rang i prob didn't wait for the end though. I hate ringing people at the best of times so you know its bad when i don't put it off. Did hope someone could give me some ideas here but i think i missed the boat there's been loads of bf talk lately. I will just have to ring my hv on monday just seems so far away. Don't know what's happened everything was perfect but now its so hard. I've obviously messed up somewhere.0

beenie, I know nothing of BF as I have never done it, but I do know that every baby is different and some just take a bit more encouragement than others

Hang in there hun, it will get better and all this problem will be forgotten xxThe two best things I have done with my life

Aw thank you. I just saw how grumpy and self pitying my last post was. I think the tiredness has just kicked in after 18 days :rotfl:. I'm currently at a stage of thinking i can't do this, it's not working, i cursed myself by being so pleased at how easy we took to bf'ing etc. I.e negative thoughts. Elle yeah that was it, i will try again tomorrow, is it run by volunteers who just take calls while going about their daily business? I want to go to the surestart support group too but i have no idea how they work. I have visions of sitting in a circle introducing people to my nipples :rotfl::rotfl:0

There are some links for info on latching and positioning on that site too - down the right hand side of the screen. I didn't look cos I've never really known if Rhys' latching was 100% correct, but it might help - think it mentioned pictures too!
It says:-
"If no-one can take your call, a message will tell you so. If the first Supporter is unable to take your call, you will be automatically transferred to a second Supporter (this may take a little longer to connect). Please remember your Supporter is a mum too and may have other commitments. She will try her best to answer your call as soon as she can.
Breastfeeding Network Supporters are volunteers who have done extensive training, and are also mothers who have breastfed their babies. They are able to provide a unique service that is complementary to that of health visitors, midwives and other health professionals. Breastfeeding Supporters are available at the end of the phone to give information and support to mothers who have challenges with breastfeeding, and will visit new mothers at home where possible."
MFD is a big fan of "booby groups" - mostly for the odd sandwich filling combinations, I reckon.. :rotfl: - and Krystal helps at one I think
I don't think getting your boobs out is an essential, but they'll be someone there to cast a helpful eye over matters if you wish
Come on, repeat after me... "I can do this, I can do this, I'll give it a little while longer and see how we go.."

Oh, and apparently (post #13) Morrisons have a Baby Event coming up shortly too - maybe more big boxes of Pampers wipes like the last time?

Ahhh thank you! And thanks for pasting that info, not sure if my phone can handle the site it wouldn't load- Orange internet is slowww! I feel a bit like a pain in the backside if i disturb someone from something but i suppose that's what they signed up for . I am a bit nervous about going to the group i hate those kind of setups usually but i need to get over myself and hope it's not too cliquey! If i post to say i'm not gonna go then someone needs to kick me up the bum cos i will go insane if i isolate myself for much longer. My only 2 supportive friends don't have kids. And my friends with kids are too busy with their families and work for me to see much. Well she's finally asleep, hate not knowing if it will be for 5 minutes or 5 hours, but i should try to sleep anyway.
Night elle and thank you x0 -
We do kicks up the bum quite well.. 'tis what we're here for
Didn't realise you were on your phone - glad I pasted that now, though I might have just been stating the obvious if you'd already read it yourself!
Hope you get some sleep.. I'm off to bed too now. Night night! xx0
