Morning all xx
Well my son decided to wake up at 5.30  seen as he had a late night as we had been round at relatives dropping off christmas prezzies. So I went in to him to check he was ok and the little b00ger went back to sleep, I couldn't go back to sleep as DH is snoring................. so tired, will definitely be having a nap this afternoon.
Went to borders again yesterday and everything was 90% off so I got £136 pounds worth of books for £13.60, mostly for me this timeMummy to D born 21/04/09 and S born 09/05/120 -
And on a brighter note, the £50 Quidco from Jamie's Trust Fund has just been paid! _party_

Set your alarms for early afternoon naps, ladies!

Hi! Thanks for all the congrats!
I need help
She wants feeding ALL.THE.TIME . My milk hasn't come in yet and although 2 midwives have said she's latching on perfectly, and she keeps the latch - it really really really hurts. I don't remember it hurting with my DS, although it feels similar (worse) to when i'd use the manual breast pump and had emptied - does that make sense?
She seems to want to be on there constantly and i dread it cos it feels like she's pulling a 6 inch blade though my whole boob _pale_
I'm hoping she'll settle a bit when my milk comes but she doesn't sleep much.
ps. omg @ afterpains:(

ETA: lots of hugs

Thanks! I haven't commited to a name yet but my DS keeps calling her Amber so i think it's going to be quite tricky to change it now lol. I can't bring myself to say it's official though :rotfl:0

Morning ladies,
Another cold and icy day here. I did have plans to go into work for lunch, followed by the hairdressers, but no car means no lunch and no hair. Oh well, at least I don't have to go out into the cold.
Need to ring my mum in a minute to get her to pick up a couple of bits for me from the supermarket, including a carrot to leave out for Rudolph tomorrow night as ours are in the garden under quite a bit of snow and I'm definitely not going out there to get one!
I managed to get all my Xmas wrapping done last night, which I'm pleased about.
Caitlin slept til about 6 this morning but wasn't crying so left her in her cot until 7am which is breakfast time for her.
What's everyone got planned for today?
Oh Tara, I really like that wallpaper.
Hope poorly babies, children, mums and dads are feeling a bit better today.0 -
Hi Beenie and SB
Beenie, that sounds exactly like what I had. The MW kept telling me that the latch was fine but it still hurt me like hell, and for a good few weeks too. Can you get to a BF club for advice? Not sure if any wsill be open today or tomorrow.
Am liking Amber. Tia will definitely approve
SB - are you ready for Jamie's birthday?0 -
Morning! Supposed to be going to a Mummy coffee morning so we're up and dressed in our finery but hubby just called to advise against going out unless I really have to as they've had over 100 ice related car accidents in the city already (he's a copper) and the gritters have stopped gritting as it's too dangerous for them . So Henry and I are staying in and having a day of watching movies on our Sky+ with the heating on full blast. Luckily the food shopping and Xmas shopping is all done. I am so glad I went and bought hubby's last pressie yesterday so I don't need to go into town today.
On the plus side I bought millionaire shortbread to take to the coffee morning so I can now scoff the lot.
Beenie- Henry fed what felt like constantly till my milk came in, then he did settle down alot after the third day. No advice on the pain as mine was from a dodgy latch. I found the NHS video on BF really helpful for positioning (just google it) so might be worth checking that if there aren't any boobie groups on.
And did I mention my little boy did six hours, woke for a feed then went back down for another four? Best night so far!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Good morning guys and gals.
It's quiet on here this morning, so I thought I would post whilst I can. Holly has gone back to sleep after being up earlyish at 7.30am so going to nip in for a shower in a minute. Just wondered if you had seen this:
http://portablenorthpole.tv/home
My dad sent it to me - it's really quite good! You just put the details in and you can upload a photo of your child (or wife/husband etc!) and Santa does a video talking to them about what they would like for Christmas etc. Maybe if Santa has forgotten to send a letter to some children this year, he could do them a video?!
Christmas shopping is finished bar 1 tin of sweets to go with BILs vouchers - lI like to have something to wrap up. Just need to get to Asda or somewhere for supplies and that's me. Can't see me going out today though. I think the main roads here are probably fine, but I stay at the bottom of a rather hilly estate and it took hubby over an hour to get out of the driveway this morning so not really worth going out if it's not essential. I will just get him to go to supermarket whilst he is out, although I do like to go myself! And it is still snowing heavily - it's been constant here.
Hope all babies and mums/dads feel better for Santa coming. And well done to Henry for sleeping 6 hours! It makes all the difference getting a good sleep. I think I would be demented if Holly did less than 8 hours each night.
Has Csh been on recently? I have been reading bits where I can, but not keeping up I'm afraid. Hello to Csh if you are around. Hope you are not snowed in - I hear it's quite bad in Central and Fife. xx0
