My baby is poorly:o I was just trying (again) to settle him as he is just crawling around the floor whining, but wouldn't let me pick him up....anyway I had a feel of his head and it felt slightly warm, took his temp and it is 38.6, so pretty high!
He won't settle sitting on me, just screams hysterically, so I am bouncing him in the bouncy chair...he looks a bit big in it now though! I have been trying not to use it for him as I want it free to be cleaned and put away for June.
Poor baby:(Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

No, she doesn't. She has never had a night time bottle, strange baby. She had her last bottle at 8pm. Then we bathed her following a poo incident. Then put her down at 9.30pm. So 8pm - 9.30am between feeds!
She is a funny feeder though. She is only on 4 bottles per day. Sometimes she takes 8oz in a feed, and sometimes much less. She is normally around 30oz per day, but yesterday only had about 24oz. She spills loads though - most times she plays with the teat and she always has a choking fit! She is a very happy baby though so no point in worrying.
wow thats good going!
Jack has 5 bottles a day - there is 35ozs available & he usually has around 25ozs. thinking of dropping dream feed but then he wakes up even earlier & still doesnt drink anymore!
cant believe he is 18 weeks on Thursday!
battery low now so gonna go n get dressedn get ready for my journey to docs in the snow
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Other plan is to start getting H into some sort of routine. She went to bed at 9.30 last night and slept til 9am today. I can live with that but eventually moving to 8-7 or thereabouts, I think.
Was interested in MFD saying about the routine matching a work day so it's easier for when you go back (although I still have a while to go thankfully).
LOL - Benjamin woke between 6am and 6.30am (normal work day waking time) practically every day over the holidays and refused to go back down to sleep!! The days of a long lie-in are most definitely over for the time being!
Mel - poor Kai, hope he is okay. Have you Calpol'd him?please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Sorry to carry over from last night, but I was attending to grouchy baby most of the evening!
Bruno - a couple things. 1) tell me to butt out, but your DW might want to think about getting citizenship soon as not sure if you're aware all the rules are changing due to the new Act that was passed last year. Just FYI.
2) I really sympathise with her position, as I often feel the same way. I've been here over 3 yrs as well and have very few friends (mostly my own fault, I do acknowledge). And even though we live in London, I do feel a bit trapped in our flat as going anywhere either involves a bus (which costs ££) or a long walk up a steep hill.
3) does she post/belong to any expat forums online? Sometimes talking with other expats can help and they often have meet-ups, etc. I can PM you a really good one I've been posting on for yrs.
Anyway, good luck and it sounds like you're a very patient, loving husband (much like my DH, bless him). There's no easy solution really and I guess all you can do is some gentle prodding to get her out of the house more so she doesn't feel too overwhelmed.
Thanks Aless, PM would be welcome!
She can't go for citizenship for about 2 years yet I think. I will look it up again though.
I am pretty patientbut we're none of us perfect!

Emlou - I have never made it before!
Chicken Chow Mein
Ingredients;
1 flap of dried egg noodles (boil for 4 mins)
1 tin of bean sprouts
Onion
Sweetcorn
Mushrooms
1tbsp Soy sauce
1 tbsp Oyster sauce
Method;
Fry onions, add chicken (if raw), when chicken is cooked add all other ingredients and heat through, serve with noodles.
Just going to adapt it as I go, but it looks basic enough. Failing that, I have a sachet of Blue Dragon Chow Mein stir fry sauce in the cupboard. he he. Another recipe I have says 1tsp tomato puree so might add that if it's tasteless.0 -
MFD, you and I need to take the last of the decorations down and get new avvys0

Actually little phantom kicks is exactly what it feels like. I'm glad it's not just meMeatballs with Lloyd Grossman Tomato and Chilli sauce, spaghetti and garlic bread.
SS Could you be ovulating? I feel it every month on either the right or left, with a strange popping/tickly sensation? Hmmm, is that just me?
I always have to look twice when someone mentions Lloyd Grossman - looks a bit too much like my RL name for my liking :rotfl:
I'd like to be ovulating, I've still had no AF post-Molly and one would probably be convenient so I know where I am.Before I go.......
V has a nasty cough which is disturbing her sleep. Can she have anything? The cough medicines i've got in the cupboard for the other two say over 3 years. Is there one for babies?
And, my uncle is planning a huge family get together for his 50th in March. He's struggling finding somewhere to take us all for a weekend.
There will be around 25 of us, and he was planning on a big holiday home to fit us all in. (or chalets maybe?)
Somewhere not to far from us here in Merseyside. Maybe up to the Lakes/Derbyshire/North Wales.
Anyone have any ideas?
Molly's been having baby Calpol, which doesn't stop her coughing so much as take out the worst of the phlegm that's causing the cough and making it less frequent and less painful-sounding. Suitable from 3 months, I think, it says on the package - but talk to the pharmacist because I'm not giving medical advice
Also, there's a youth hostel in Colwyn Bay that used to do sole occupancy and I think they had a big chalet type thing. Try the YHA website - there are a few locations like that.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
