Thanks SS & Elle - i've forwarded him some links. (He's paying :money:, he's the rich relative).
Bathroom is sparkling now, V still asleep, so i'll go and brown my ballsand bung them in the slow cooker.
I should change my avvy too. Does anyone know where my camera is?
OOh, the fairies have just brought the cutest little legwarmers.:beer:0 -
Sorry to carry over from last night, but I was attending to grouchy baby most of the evening!
Bruno - a couple things. 1) tell me to butt out, but your DW might want to think about getting citizenship soon as not sure if you're aware all the rules are changing due to the new Act that was passed last year. Just FYI.
2) I really sympathise with her position, as I often feel the same way. I've been here over 3 yrs as well and have very few friends (mostly my own fault, I do acknowledge). And even though we live in London, I do feel a bit trapped in our flat as going anywhere either involves a bus (which costs ££) or a long walk up a steep hill.
3) does she post/belong to any expat forums online? Sometimes talking with other expats can help and they often have meet-ups, etc. I can PM you a really good one I've been posting on for yrs.
Anyway, good luck and it sounds like you're a very patient, loving husband (much like my DH, bless him). There's no easy solution really and I guess all you can do is some gentle prodding to get her out of the house more so she doesn't feel too overwhelmed.
Hi aless02:hello:
I dont think I've met you yet
Sorry to but in on your post to Bruno, but could you give me a heads up of the changes that have been made re citizenship. I haven't taken up that option myself, but mainly just due to the fact that i have spent a fortune on visas already and as i'm not planning on being out of the UK for a two year period, i haven't had the need. although, depending on the changes, i may rethink.
where is it that you are originally from??
off to catch up now.

LOL - can anybody tell I am procrastinating!
Also, if I was at home all day and Husband swanned in from work only to booger off out again I would be sorely miffed. Occasionally would be fine, but more than once a week - especially if I wasn't getting free time because he was out playing - and he would be getting a Severe Talking To. We try to balance out baby time so we get roughly equal amounts of the fun bits and the grotty bits (although he changes far more nappies than I do because I do all the feeding).
I think it is all about communication. I don't mind hubby going out whenever he wants to, as long as he tells me what he is up to (and not on the day) and he is prepared to do his bit around the house and with the baby. Although obviously there are limits of reasonableness!
I would be worried if he didn't want to go out without me and vice versa, we are a couple but we are individuals too and it is important to remember that IMHO, especially now as being a 'family' can override being a 'couple', it can be easy to lose your identity amongst all the hats we wear.
I had to LOL at your 'swanned in from work' - where he clearly had been doing nothing worthwhile all dayplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Af, is she being sick because she is ill or just being sick for no real reason?
Hi ya,
She is being sick because she is ill.
Just found out she has a chest infection, a high temp and a virus. We have anti biotics now and she has to take the full course of those.
Poor little mite, it just breaks my heart to see her like this. She was sick again after a feed, bless her. she was to have little and often but wouldn't let go of the bottle, and then it all came back to visit us.
The doc said there should be an improvement in a day or two, so hears hoping

It is not a rest for a while because of the expressing but if you can build up a bit of a store then at least you can relax.
Does he feed any better laying down?

I do, can just about manage to fit 8oz in but the 9oz marker must be for decoration cos theres no way 9oz can go in there!! luckily jasmine only has 7oz so not a problem for me, i normally put the powder in first then use an empty bottle to pour the water in, then use a teaspoon to stir it lol! x0 -
