aww elasti, I'm sure your DS will snap out of it...it's prolly just subconscious jealousy of Harry. Also hopefully your boobies will stop leaking once they figure out how much milk Harry needs. Touch wood, mine have been very well-behaved.

GISI, I hate running so good luck to you! My DH is doing the Paris marathon (he did it last yr too) so I think he runs enough for the both of us :rotfl: Anyone who does any race gets huge props in my book.

Awww elle glad you got a long sleep!

Library was mostly a success. He got quite fussy after only 10 mins, so we had to make a quick exit but I think he's just gotta used to the pram, etc. Can't wait for sling to arrive as will be much less bother for quick trips like that.

Looking at everyone's goals, I think the pregnancy thread is going to get very busy again towards the middle-to-end of this year! :D

I think i should change my name to milky- messy- girl God it gets every where lol. I am always dripping wet! I nearly always have to wear those shells that collect the milk, When i am feeding him the let down is of course worse but even when i'm not and he is fast asleep it is poring from me so i try to express and nothing comes out. I get more milk naturally in the shells than i do from expressing but i can hardly wear them when i am out as you can tell i have them in my bra and i don't like to wear a bra at nite but then i am covered in milk by the morning. I find it very wasteful.

The hospital gave me an electric pump and that did get the milk but i have had to return it now. I have the tommy tippee breat pump and it's rubbish.

We are all on our own for the first time. Hubby has took ds out for his hair cut and then food shopping. better go harry is wanting feeding again, he will soon be back up to his birth rate the way he is going :D

I used johnsons pads, smaller but because they are shaped and are way more absorbent, they worked out better. Plus the boots ones made me itch! They will calm down round about the magic 6-8weeks. My friend was just telling me that she uses the shells and gets more that way than pumping!

Your DS will calm down eventually. Is he allowed to read in bed? Do you read him a story or anything? My boys settle better if I read them a story or juggle (yes I learned to juggle to entertain DS2 when he was youger and poorly) or anything really so long as I spend some time in the room with them one on one/two, no baby.

My DH and children are on their way home, I managed to do a good bit of the living room but didn't over stretch myself  Better go get the kettle on.

Elasti, I have two (possibly three) boxes of the Johnsons pads Tia talked about here doing nothing - I stopped needing them just as the Glam and jillie fairies delivered some more! I'll happily send them on so you can give them a try :)

I've found out what OH meant.. the note said "gone to motorshop before Dad does something daft" - turns out his dad had been out driving this morning and his brakes had failed! So OH went to get some parts and took them to his dad.. Makes sense now! :) He's gone into town to get his haircut, get me a belgian bun from Bakers Oven (:D :D) and to put petrol in my car, yay!

I feel a bit 'lost' today, not really sure why:confused:

Dh and baby chillin (asleep) on sofa, boys upstairs playing consoles, making the most of it before school time restrictions start again I suppose:p

My mum just stopped round, I gave her the cards and pressie for her birthday yesterday then her boyfriend took dh and my brother over the road to the pub....I think I have finally convinced my mum to sell her house and do something worthwhile with the money so she can stop working her fingers to the bone.....

I am trying to find a laptop for a decent price, although can't buy it till the 11th, so maybe I should wait until nearer the time to look:rolleyes:

Elle - How scary for your OH's dad!!!

Sounds like the calm after the storm of Christmas and New Year ;)

On the subject of resolutions etc - none :p I never make them. I'll just hope I can continue to look after my girls to the best of my ability, including our new addition, although she can help me look after the super seven ;)

I have loads of left over puree in the freezer from when I went pureeing mad in week one of weaning but Leila prefers a bit of texture to her food so I have been doing the the finely chopped bit but for me that generally consists of whacking with back of spoon to squidge/soften a little then chopping a little off with side of spoon. She had scrambled eggs last night and loved them (I'm not sure if thats no no - I thought it might be but figured they were well cooked to solid state (ie not runny) so decided it was okay). Might give pasta a go next week.

She is so funny when she eats, she likes to sniff her food first. I wish I had it on video as she really gives it a good sniff! Funnily enough my little bro did that and still does (aged 17).
My brother is 27 and he still sniffs things before he eats them!!!
I give Caitlyn a bit of whatever we're eating, don't mash it or anything... She's got hard gums for that... Although yesterday she slept through dinner and I completely forgot to save her any so she got a jacket potato with butter and cheese instead lol...

Just watch with the shells as they can stimulate milk production and let down... They're good for collecting milk, but not so good for just mopping it up.... I agree that johnosons pads are the best for absorbancy... Although I bought some boots washable ones in the end anyway...

Thanks for letting us know about Mfd Elle... I'll give her a text in a bit... Glad to hear your milk is back up again... How is your nipple now? (What a question!! lol)

Well Caitlyn has a tooth and a half! I spotted the first one new years eve, then this morning I notice that a tiny corner of the other one is poking through too! I don't think it came through last night though, she actually only woke once in the night last night and even settled between us after her 7am feed and slept until Aimee came waking us up at 9! Such a relief after weeks of being woken every hour or 2... Won't hold out much hope of it continuing though lol...

Right ladies, I need some help (again).

Kezia has turned from perfect little angel to v unhappy girly overnight. She is screaming like I have never heard from her, going red in the face and not stopping for breath, and will only feed from the left side. This started last night, she has fed once from the right this morning but since will only take from the left and will do the whole screaming like mummys throttling me scenario until I give in and put her on the left at which point she sucks happily until she falls asleep.

Now as far as I can tell there is nothing wrong with my right boob, no perfume, pain, engorgement, nothing that would make it taste different or difficult to feed from.

Does anyone have any ideas before she needs feeding again otherwise, if she carries on like this, it will be engorged and then I be in pain as well as confused.

    Thanks
    Harley xxxx

Breast pads - the boots washable ones are rubbish compared to the Medela ones. I've got several pairs of the medela washable ones, they really are the best.

Harley - LO doesn't like to feed from the right at night. He fought it really hard, so I gave up and just fed from the left. He will take the right now at night, as long as he isn't unwell or grumpy. There's a good guide here:
    http://www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/baby/back-to-breast.html

Krystal, I've got a feeding question. LO is better now, but I've got what he had. I absolutely cannot bare the thought of having anything other than water - this won't be a problem for a few days will it?

Harley, it could be that she has a touch of earache on one side and lying down hurts it, if this is the case the rugby ball hold could help... Lie her down the way you would for the left side then slide her round to the right...

Or she could be like Caitlyn who went through an extremely fussy stage of only feeding lying down and for a short time only lying on her left hand side... Which made feeding interesting for a while... Especially when visiting folks

Have you ever tried feeding her while she's asleep? Or sometimes, standing up and rocking them whilst latching on helps too (often called the nursing dance...)

Feely, being off food for a few days won't affect your milk supply, as long as you keep yourself hydrated and rested.

Hope you feel better soon hun.
