I read something on MSE ages ago that at the end of each year, a lady writes a list of things that her children achieved or did that year and saves them for when they're older. I was thinking of doing that for Caitlin too, so for 2009, it would consist of things like being born, sleeping through the night, eating food and listing her favourite foods, etc. When she's older it'll be things like first day at nursery, first school trip away, first school disco, first time roller skating, etc etc. I thought that sounded lovely and appealed to my soppy nature.

I have just totally gone off subject there, sorry :o

That sounds like a lovely idea. The problem I have is I don't feel I can do any of these lovely ideas, memory boxes/scrapbooks/lists of achievments etc for Kai (or next baby) because I have never done it for the older two.....and there is no way I could remember their milestones now!!!

ta elle. I never realised just how much effort n courage it took to even write an email about having them minded, never mind actually even going and leaving them!! :o
I know that the kids will love being with other children, itll be me thats a big gurn!

I think it is just the thought of it, plus the thought of having to go back to work. Although in the same sense, I want to go back to work, just not the job that im in, iykwim!?
and no to be honest, have no idea what im looking for? Im hardly going to see her attitude towards them when Katie is being a lil madam...what is is discipline like? oh dear, im blubbing again. lol

Awww, ((hugs)) Carla it is horrible isn't it, but the anticipation of leaving them is far worse than the actual act of doing it though....after a couple of days back in work you will be fine:) Although I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to go back to the job you are currently in. It makes it all the harder to go back/leave the, doesn't it. That's why I left my job and went full-time Uni.....although that hasn't exactly worked out, but we are going to see if we can manage with me staying at home. Have you done all the calculations, can you definitely not afford to stay at home, even if it's just until you find a job you want to do??

Kai goes to nursery as we prefer that kind of setting. He only goes one day a week now although am debating whether two half days might be better.......but we knew which nursery we wanted to send him to as we had used it before, but that was after much searching and asking around for advice, you will know when you find the right one:)

i didnt know Claire was a childminder.....i was on the nicma website, and was actually thinking of becoming registered myself. although i dont know if i could do it!

If you need any help Carla just let me know - either looking for or registering as a childminder. I'm looking into leaving childminding as there isn't the work in our area at the moment.

One thing I would point out to you though is your own children are taken into consideration with the numbers of children you can care for (rightly in my opinion) but obviously you can't earn from them lol! Now the numbers are usually only 1 under the age of 1yr (your son), total of 3 under 5 (including your under 1 & your daughter) and 3 between 5 and 8yrs. So as you have two children of your own you'll only be allowed one under 5 and max of 3 between 5 and 8 but they will be at school most of the day so your earning potiental is limited. I'm in exactly the same situation with my two boys as they fall into the same age bands as yours do.

    Right my decade:
2000 Bought purple moped, at college doing GNVQ, working 4 part time and one holiday job around college hours
2001 Still at college, only working for 2 part time jobs, met OH, bought first car, started then dropped out of Uni.
2002 Got full time agency job with a bank - had to leave part time jobs, then got offered contract with them.
2003 Got promotion at work, OH proposed
    2004 Bought our house
2005 Nothing special this yr other than working to pay the mortgage!
    2006 Married OH
2007 Charlie born, Registered as childminder
2008 Had garage converted to playroom
2009 Redecorated house, Reece born in ambulance!
2010 Get a new job, maybe get a car, save as much money as I can
:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009
:heart2:Toby born Apr and taken by SMA Dec 2012
    :heart2: Baby boy failed M/C @ 20 wks Oct 2013 :heart2: Sienna born Oct 2014

    Morning xx

To Fitzio and SB I'm a bit better after my fall, but it hurts to sit/lie down so I've had a carp nights sleep.

We've got more snow here, I liked it at first but now I just want it gone.

  • SB - How am I on your list? Is it because I like your posts :-)
You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same
  • wi3adora - Your fall sounded awful :-( Might be worth a trip to the docs if the pain doesn't ease off in a day or 2 just to check you've not pulled anything serious

Me too MM - I read and comment when something takes my eye, like a lot more stuff when I've nothing to say about it, but rarely venture onto people's pages.

Hope it eases up soon Dora, it sounds really sore :(

We're flying off this afternoon, I'm almost completely packed and have only four last-minute things to get done. Husband and Baby are sleeping so I'm relaxing while I can. Next stop: the loft, followed by Next to return things, Tesco to buy stamps and the post box to post thank you cards.
