6 week check is generally to check that everything is back to normal and to discuss contraception. I think some docs do a PND test too.



Beenie - FWIW I didn't mind going to any groups once I had Benjamin with me. You can always find something to busy yourself with (bum change, face wipe, cuddles, playing, feeding, just staring at your beautiful baby) and there is usually a few old hands who make sure everybody is being talked to. Why not go to it a little late so you only have to do 45 mins or so, then at least you don't have to worry about doing too long there. xxx

Oh dear, I have seen my HV once when Lexi was 2 months old, heard nothing from her since. Mine and Lexi's 6 week checks were done when she was 9 weeks old. 'They' can be a pita sometimes cant they?

Sparkle, hope you are okay. Lack of sleep over a long time is hard to deal with. I think you are doing a great job. I worry about not coping, but was told there is a big difference between feeling like that and actually not coping. Is there anything specific you find hard? I find weaning stressful, and changing - Toby hates being changed.

Big ((HUGS)) sweetie, better to tell someone than ignore it. Sometimes we just feel down and can't pinpoint it.

Do you think the sleep is something to do with it? Or is it an 'easy' thing to blame IYSWIM?

I'm also sorry for all the mixing up I'm doing, the sleeplessness is easy to blame but I don't know if that's it IYKWIM? I'm just a bit useless at the moment but don't want to cause offence

At least Amber is too little to realise she's been let down for now. He can't seriously expect you to keep giving him chances. My ex is a similar waste of space - but L & J are big enough to realise now. When L speaks to him on the phone and he promises her something fabulous, she does a fantastic roll eyes look! Its quite sad I think, and i'm sure he'll regret it when he's old and lonely.

I've had shingles a few times, in exactly the same spot above my hip. I was told people can't catch shingle from me, but can catch chicken pox if they haven't had it.
First time I had it I was only little. My nan told me that if the rash spread right around my torso, i'd break in two and my top half would fall off. :eek: Yes, thanks for that Nan!

Can you try a different one Feely? IME they differ vastly (and I was a propoer Booby Club tart!!).


I have always eaten tons of fruit whilst in work, it helps me to think!! Not sure if I can still claim the extra calories for BF when I am only doing mornings and nights!
